A four-year-old boy and a 40-year-old woman were killed at 17.00 p.m. Sunday afternoon in an attack near the Big C Supercentre on Ratchadamri Road in central Bangkok.

The umpteenth violent incident of recent weeks took place nearby the protest location of the PDRC anti-government protesters.

24 people were injured, some of them seriously, the BMA Erawan Emergency Health Service said. Among the injured are several children, such as a 12-year-old girl with internal bleeding and a 9-year-old boy with a neck wound.

Police Chief Suebsak Phunsura said the explosion was caused by a 40mm grenade fired from an M79.

The attack occurred 4,5 hours after an M79 grenade was found in a court parking lot on Ratchadapisek Road at 12.30:XNUMX a.m. local time.

A man has been arrested after the attack, but police say it is a tuk-tuk driver who may not have been involved in the violence.

The Big C was closed immediately after the incident.

Two people were killed last night including a five-year-old girl in the east of the country. Shots were fired from two cars at a group of people eating at a noodle shop. Both attacks are related to the political unrest in Thailand.
