Rabies outbreak in Hua Hin
Everyone in the vicinity of Hua Hin beach should watch out for a stray dog with rabies. Meanwhile, 15 people in the Hua Hin hospital, who have been bitten by dogs, have already received a rabies vaccine.
The authorities have announced that the area from the Kraikungwol Palace to Khao Phithak will be monitored for a month.
The rabies contamination came to light when a dead dog in quarantine was examined and a laboratory test showed that the animal was infected.
Officials also vaccinated 18 dogs and cats attacked by the sick dog.

I maintain that the only remedy that helps with those stray dogs is to shoot them, sorry but true.
Now 18 dogs are getting a vaccination. what a joke, there may be more dogs than people in Thailand.
Then they will have to hire foreigners because Buddhists are not allowed to kill animals.
That is why “Butcher” is probably not on the list of prohibited professions for foreigners 😉
haha and the pigs and chickens and fish die of their own accord?
Shoot? What do you think of sterilization projects? Seems like a logical step to me
Can you get a work permit as a dog hunter?
because that's work that a Thai can't do?
There are also non Buddhist Thai.
I make myself available for a fee, of course.
Have seen here several times what those bitches do
Ha ha to be shot!!!!
As always, of course, the dogs get the blame for the problem. But the real problem is the Thais themselves, who buy a puppy at the market because it's so cute, but when the animal grows up, it gets kicked out into the street. Then you can start shooting dogs, but it will continue to mop with the tap open.
How do those officials know that those 18 vaccinated dogs and cats were bitten by the dog with rabies? Might as well (or rather, bad) have been 30, 40 or more dogs and cats. Indeed, it continues to mop with the tap open. Mandatory vaccination of all puppies against rabies will not be a reality. Animals with rabies must of course be euthanized. Don't think about shooting them, but think about a more humane method. And for those 15 people who have received a rabies vaccination, the stocking is not over. Rechecking for contamination and possible treatment is an expensive affair. Of course healthy stray dogs certainly do not belong on a public and busy beach. One month check? A joke, permanent measures are definitely required, especially on a beach frequented by many tourists!
Otherwise, know several Buddhist Thai people in the Netherlands who work in a chicken butcher shop.
Near us (Klong Sam Wa / BKK) there is also a butcher that slaughters pigs itself.
Yes, Thais are like people. They are also not allowed to smoke and drink or indulge in sexual excesses according to Buddhism. It is of course no different from anywhere in the world where everyone (with a faith or without) just messes around. According to his belief, a Catholic priest is not allowed to abuse altar boys and yet it happens.
It is also not allowed to torment and abuse animals, but many Thais practice this completely differently with those elephants, tigers and crocodiles. Well, indeed Buddhists are just like people.
Funny not so long ago I criticized those many stray dogs in Thailand on a Dutch-language Thailand forum because I thought they were gross and no more than that, I was promptly called an animal abuser while I didn't even use the words kill or shoot took my mouth.
Apparently things have changed.
I agree with Khun Peter…
The ONLY SOLUTION = CHANGE OF MENTALITY WITHIN PEOPLE THEMSELVES!
Some of their reactions here are anything but and show animal hatred!
I'm not surprised with all those stray dogs. Why aren't all those dogs caught and sterilized and neutered so that not so many dogs are born again every year and then immediately vaccinated against rabies. We find every year that there are even more dogs than the year before. We were also once threatened by a pack of dogs, because that's how it felt. It is that my husband started screaming loudly at them, which made them take off, but it was very frightening. Never took that road again.
'Outbreak' of rabies may be a bit of an exaggeration. There is only one sick dog.
During the last large-scale study of stray dogs in and around Bangkok, I believe in 2012, one rabies-infected dog was also reported. Of the 3741 they examined.
