Thai man arrested for groping women's breasts on city buses
On Wednesday evening, a 36-year-old Thai man from Pathum Thani was arrested who has now confessed to having touched women's breasts on six bus lines. The man reportedly molested 30 women between August and November.
The man was arrested after a woman filmed the man's actions and posted them on Facebook. The man then touched the breasts of a woman sitting in a chair in front of him.
Police spokesman Sompong Chingdoung says that the case started when a woman filed a report. The man grabbed the woman by the breasts and fled the bus. Last Sunday, the woman filed a complaint with the police. The suspect was tracked down and arrested.
The perpetrator faces a prison sentence of up to ten years and/or a fine of up to 20.000 baht. He appears to be a repeat offender, as he has already been arrested once before on April 4 for lewd behavior at a bus stop in Don Mueang.
Many Thai, but also Western women complain about being touched and groped on the city buses in Bangkok.
