The Thai Ministry of Health wants to put 30 million vaccinations nationwide by August. More than a hundred thousand people in the risk groups have already been vaccinated and another 300.000 people will be added this month.

Director-General Opas of the DDC says that 10,4 million people, out of the group of 28,1 million Thai, have priority because they fall within a risk group. Four thousand clinics and medical facilities in all 77 provinces are also designated to vaccinate.

The number of vaccinations depends on the amount of vaccines that become available, if there are enough, the targets can be achieved, said the spokesperson.

Yesterday, the Department of Health Service Support (DHSS) warned the public not to respond to fraudulent advertisements on Line offering Covid-19 vaccinations for a fee. The Line group chat was created by the so-called “Qinsong Group” which claims to have 100% efficacy vaccines for sale.

10 responses to “Thailand: 30 million vaccinations until August”

I am resident in pattaya. I also belong to the group over 70, so to the risk group. Does anyone know if I will automatically be approached by the Thai government for an injection? Or do I have to sign up or register somewhere to express my interest in this. I am expected to fly to NL in July and would therefore like to be vaccinated before then.

Is there anything sensible to say where and when foreign risk groups will be discussed? Does anyone know anything about that or is it still crystal ball looking?

    • ruud says up

I would walk into a hospital and ask.
If anything is known, they will undoubtedly know it there.

  3. Hans Bosch says up

These are just plans. Thailand doesn't even have that many vaccines. And tomorrow plans have changed again. Promising a lot, giving little, makes the Thai live in joy…

  4. Van Wichelen-Ferdinand says up

The total population of Thailand is 67 million. Foreigners living here will probably best contact private hospitals to know how they can be vaccinated and with which vaccine.

  5. Jm says up

Which vaccine do they use and do they not need a second shot?
And what do the embassies do for their compatriots living in Thailand?
No shot or draw your plan?

I don't think that's an embassy's job. You make the decision to go to Thailand yourself. Nobody forces you to do that. So I think there are two ways to vaccinate. At a private hospital or returning for the vaccinations to the Netherlands/Belgium.

      • ruud says up

I think that the state hospitals will also vaccinate foreigners.
Because as a government you want everyone to be vaccinated.
And the guest workers in Thailand must also be vaccinated and they will undoubtedly not go to a private clinic.

If it is true that 30 million vaccines can be put in the next 4 months (7,5 million p.m.), all health ministers of the 27 Euro countries should immediately go on internship.

Dear Thailand blog, people who travel to Thailand have to carry various documents, the most often forgotten is their fit to fly issued by a doctor, and signed, it is such a shame if you are not allowed to fly because you forget it. sharing that saves a lot of suffering. mvr gr Ton.
