It is a thorn in the side of many residents and motorists: the many dozens of young people who make the streets unsafe in the evening and at night with their races and also cause the necessary noise nuisance. The police are going to do something about it again. Within a week, the hormone-controlled pastime must come to an end.

Yesterday a start was made in Bangkok, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Samut Prakan, Samut Sakhon and Nakhon Pathom. The newspaper does not report anything else about it, except that according to the police 200.000 young people have been arrested, but you do not have to get out of bed for that information.

A photographer apparently gave up his night's sleep for it; he made a nice picture on the Vibhavadi Rangsit Road where a group gathers to turn the road into a racetrack. The accompanying photo was taken on Saturday night.

Bangkok Post So let it fail again, but don't worry, because I know from previous reports that the police erect barricades during these kinds of actions, arrest the racing young people and confiscate the (powered-up) motorcycles. It is often a cat-and-mouse game where the most savvy racers manage to escape.

The ten roads in Bangkok where racing takes place are the Ratchadaphisek Road, roads in Klong Toey, Kaset-Nawamin Road, Kanchanaphisek Road, Rama 4 Road, Vibhavadi Rangsit Road, Phetchaburi Road and Ram Intra Road. Outside of Bangkok, these are Ratchaphruek Road (Nonthaburi), Bang Na-Trat Road (Samut Prakan) and Phetkasem Road (Nakhon Pathom).

The police have announced that they will take firm action against the so-called deck waen. Not only against the racers themselves, but also for their parents and spectators, the police have 'some type of punishment' in store. [What would that be again?] Workshops and shops where motorcycles are staged are not spared either.

In Pathum Thani opposite the St Carlos hospital there is the Polish juice market. Is a market where you can find everything you need to tune mopeds. I've seen homemade drag race mopeds there that reach top speeds of 190 km per hour in a few seconds. I always take visitors to this market, motorcycle fanatics just don't believe their eyes when they see what is being sold there in terms of tuning gear. there are dozens of small businesses in the area that rear mopeds.

All these actions by the Thai government only apply to Bangkok
    oh
In the north & north-east of Thailand
are no less races in the night hours,
    and often fatal.
    It will be your child!
But as long as one the local police for
this racing paid the normal dues,
can this race mostly on weekends normally
continue for young people aged 12 – 22 years.
    For the normal citizen…
    watch out crossing!
