More than a year after the Purple Line of the Skytrain in Bangkok became operational, the problem with the missing piece has been solved. It is a 1,2 km long connection between Bang Sue metro station and Tao Poon.

From August 11, travelers no longer need to be taken to the connecting station by shuttle bus. The reason for the delay was a disagreement on the operation between the two parties (the operator of the Blue Line -Bang Sue-Hua Lamphong and the MRTA, operator of the Purple Line -Tao Poon-Bang Yai).

Until now, the number of travelers on the Purple Line has been very disappointing. The number of travelers is 30.000 per day, well below the target of 100.000. That will be different next month now that the delay of 40 to 50 minutes has expired.

The map below shows the route of the Purple Line.
