Obec has commissioned a nationwide survey of school lunches. The reason is the discovery that the children at four schools in Nakhon Ratchasima received very poor lunches. This has emerged from an investigation by the NACC.

According to the NACC, only part of the budget the school received for lunches was spent on that. The schools could not explain what happened to the rest of the money or say it was spent on other activities. In some cases, the number of students registered for lunches exceeded the number of students enrolled in the school.

The school lunch program has existed since 1999. Kindergarten and primary schools receive 20 baht per student per day. Schools may hire caterers to prepare or deliver the lunches.

A principal of a school in Nakhon Si Thammarat was transferred after students were given rice and soup with leftover vegetables and watermelon.

Obec secretary general Suthep calls the stealing of lunch money unacceptable.

The answer is simple to this post.
The head teacher's new Toyota Fortuner has to be paid for somehow.
At the primary school in my village last year there were even two new ones with red number plates on the schoolyard, a Fortuner and a Mitsu Pajero sport.

Our grandchildren bring their own food, so they do indeed have normal food, which you can understand as normal food from Thais.
