Nets should protect swimmers from sharks

A 310-meter net is stretched off Sai Noi Beach in Prachuap Khiri Khan to protect swimmers from sharks. Four male sharks of about two meters in size have been seen in the bay.

The net, which is anchored at a depth of 3 meters, has a black color to deter sharks. It can also protect against jellyfish. It is safe to swim behind the net.

A Norwegian tourist was bitten in the left foot by a shark on Sunday. It left a wound with nineteen stitches.

Experts currently have no plans to install nets for Prachin Buri, Hua Hin and Cha-Am beach. Warning signs have been posted on Hat Sai Noi, but some swimmers ignore them.

Good idea, they should do it in many more places if only to prevent jellyfish. In some places you just can't go back into the water.

What nonsense, the chance that you will be bitten by a shark in Thailand is just as great as winning the lottery.
