Diagnosis – Rabies. Medical Report with Composition of Medicaments – Blue Pills, Injections and Syringe. Blurred Background with Selective Focus.

There could still be a scandal, the cynical readers will think at this news. There are doubts about the effectiveness of the rabies vaccine, which should curb the outbreak in Thailand. For years, the Department of Livestock Development (DLD) has purchased the vaccine from the same supplier, fueling the rumours.

The company that supplied the vaccine for the past 25 years has ties to the wife of a former deputy director general of the DLD. The scandal is seen as another setback for the DLD which has already come under fire over how the dog and cat vaccination program is being handled in 24 provinces following the spread of the virus. Six people have already died from the effects of a rabies infection.

Several critics also doubt the figures that the DLD mentions. Director-General Apai of the DLD says that the figures on sterilization and vaccination of stray animals are correct. Approximately 8,24 million stray animals must be vaccinated, and 2,4 million animals have now had an injection. By June, 80 percent of animals within a 5-mile radius where infected animals were found will have been vaccinated, Apai said.

The Ministry of Agriculture contradicts the accusation of the use of poorly effective vaccines. The company that supplied the vaccines for 25 years and is apparently owned by the wife of the former head of the DLD has been blacklisted since 2014. In 2016, the FDA found too low concentrations of active substance in vaccines supplied by another company.

Nice to read this article as well:

    https://www.bangkokpost.com/news/general/1433767/rabies-epidemic-is-fake-news-say-animal-activists

In 1993, 50 (!!) percent of all dogs were rabies positive and there were between 60 and 90 rabies deaths in those years.

In 2003, 18 percent of dogs were rabies positive, with 19 deaths, now 13 percent are rabies positive, with about 5 deaths.

Things are moving in the right direction, but more needs to be done: mandatory vaccination for all dogs and cats.

Do the doubts “only” concern the preventive vaccines for animals, or also the treatment vaccines for humans after they have been bitten?

Doubt? nonsense. security! what are they trying to hide? can't the vaccines be tested? they are just in the closet. So they have clearly been tested for efficacy by someone who has sounded the alarm. Typically another message that comes from a national propaganda machine and that the press simply blindly copies.

Jan aad, that sounds a bit too far to me.

But I'm going to add, I wouldn't be surprised if it is.
By the way, that costs Thailand a pretty penny, and Thailand has to pay for it.

I've heard nice words here several times, we're going that and that, but nothing has changed.

Too bad, and who is the victim of it, just the ordinary Thai citizen.

Just look in European countries what they tell people, and that nothing changes.
    And there they pay taxes.
I'm Belgian, I'm going to tell you, Belgium is number 1 in lying, when I look when elections are coming,
people, a lot of nice talk, and little of it will be implemented.

Then let them be silent………..but they have to say something, they are paid for it.

Other than that I'm not going to complain about Belgium, it's not too bad, but I've been through the good times in Belgium.
