An 84-year-old Dutch man was found dead in a water reservoir near Krabi on Tuesday morning, while his dog - a shepherd - kept watch at the water's edge.

In the Thai press he is called Charles Haarlemmermeer, but in all probability his surname is missing and Haarlemmermeer refers to his place of birth or place of residence, as indicated on his passport.

Charles lived with his Thai wife Pikul Srisomjit about a kilometer from where he was found. Pikul said her husband left home at 20pm for a daily walk with his sheepdog. She sought help from a local foundation to search for her husband after he failed to return home before nightfall. About XNUMX rescuers and villagers searched unsuccessfully for the elderly man and called off the search late that evening.

The next morning the search continued and the drowned body was found by local villagers around 8am, the dog faithfully standing guard at the water's edge.

The police suspect that Charles accidentally fell into the water when walking on the edge, or perhaps passed out and fell due to the heat. The body was taken to Krabi Hospital for an autopsy.

Hopefully he hasn't suffered and is indeed overpowered by the heat or perhaps a stroke or cardiac arrest?
    Let's wait for the autopsy,
Best wishes to the family and loved ones.

Once again, the dog proves to be man's best friend.

First of all, best wishes to all loved ones! Secondary I switch to the shepherd. I also had the pleasure of having a fantastic shepherd for 11 years. It was written in my last will at the time that if something should happen to me in which I lost my life, he should see my corpus mortes before I went up in smoke. I knew that otherwise he would always be looking for me. In Paris, a man received the heart of a dying tramp. The tramp's sheepdog lay outside the hospital door. When the new owner of the hobo's heart left the hospital, the shepherd walked up to him as if seeing his owner again. Shepherds are strangely intelligent, sensitive, and they understand you when you talk to them. 🙂
