Thailand's Covid-19 mortality rate averages 0,97 percent
Thailand's Covid-19 death rate is quite low at an average of 0,97 percent of the total number of patients, Taweesin Visanuyothin, spokesman for the government's Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration, said on Sunday (April 5).
The health ministry said all 20 people who died on Saturday (April 4) were Thai and their ages were between 35 and 84. It concerned 18 men and 2 women.
The data showed that in addition to heart disease, chronic lung disease, most of them also had diabetes (50 percent), high blood pressure (35 percent), chronic kidney disease (15 percent), dyslipidemia (15 percent), tuberculosis, and cancer.
The risk factors that made them vulnerable to the infection were visiting a boxing stadium (5), traveling abroad (5), working in crowded areas (5), close contact (2), entertainment venues (1), hospital (1) , in a busy environment (1).
In conclusion, up to April 4, 18 of a total of 1.124 male patients (1,6 percent mortality rate) and 2 of 874 female patients died (0,2 percent mortality rate), while no information is available about 69 cases. .
