Economic problems are Thai's main concern
Thais are most concerned about the country's economic problems. This is evident from a Suan Dusit Poll.
For this poll, 1.324 Thais were questioned in the period between 1 and 5 December. They were asked what worries them most today.
Most respondents (84,29%) mentioned the economic problems. A close second (81,27%) is political instability in Thailand. With 79,15%, terrorism and crime are third. Thai also see all forms of corruption as a problem 75,23%. Certainly 70,69% mention a lack of unity among the people in the country as a cause for concern.
The respondents see:
- education – 62,54%;
- drugs and influential people – 61,63%;
- farmers and their living conditions – 57,70%;
- religion, culture, traditions and morals- 54,38%;
also as a problem in the country.
The least Thai people are the least concerned about the environment and natural resources (51,36%).

It has long been expected that they will gradually have economic problems, the government is doing everything it can.
Take, for example, the high taxes they apply to imports: for example, the 400% higher tax on wines. Removing the beach chairs where Thailand has one of the most beautiful beaches. People have to lie on a mat, with a little too much wind you get the sand in your face. In Europe, travel agencies tell their customers who book a sun and sea holiday. Those kind of tourists are already staying away.
Many days in the year that the alcohol-selling businesses have to close, bars, restaurants that are not allowed to serve wine, etc. etc. All this is certainly not conducive to their economy.
