Dear readers,

Does anyone have experience with DAB+ radio in Thailand, especially in Isaan?

Is there broadcasting at all for a digital radio?

Regards,

Marcel

    Dear Marcel
DAB is still in its infancy here, especially in Isaan where I live.
I have not seen DAB receivers here yet, almost everyone has satellite TV and with that you can also listen to the radio stations.

saturday 2 dec there were receivers for sale in CM I think that the normal signals are simply converted to digital ones. High definition is already digital. First the big cities the rest ???

I would say buy an Android box with Kodi on it and connect it to your Internet router and your TV. There are plenty of Apps and Plugins available for Internet radio !!!

      Dear John
A “basic” DAB device works on the VHF band and therefore only receives “local” stations that broadcast according to the DAB standard. Unlike the FM band, the required transmission power is MUCH lower and it works digitally, so good sound quality.
The device you use has a combination of DAB, internet, BT and if you use it to listen to NL4, it goes via the internet, not via DAB.
In Thailand, the analogue TV channels have recently been switched off and they have switched to DVBT, probably they will now also replace FM with DAB, but they are not that far yet.
