The Thai government reports on Sunday, 3 new infections with the corona virus (Covid-19). No persons have died from the effects of the infection. This brings the total in Thailand to 2.969 infections and 54 fatalities in 68 provinces.

A reason for the government to loosen the reins. Some businesses are allowed to open and public parks are reopening, alcohol sales have resumed. There may be differences per province because the governors are allowed to steer their own course.

Bangkok: face masks and keep your distance

Face masks, social distancing and temperature measurements are the new normal in Bangkok for at least another month. The capital has eased the lockdown following government guidelines. These guidelines cover ten types of businesses. Most are ready to open from today but they have to meet the conditions.

Quarantine for Thai arriving from abroad

Extra facilities have been set up in Bangkok for Thais returning from abroad. These include the Qiu hotel and the Movenpick hotel in central Bangkok. They are obliged to go into quarantine for 14 days and have to pay the hotel costs themselves.

An additional 1.433 Thais are expected to return to their homeland between now and Wednesday. They come from Nepal, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, India, the VAR, Hong Kong, Singapore, Maldives, the Netherlands, Russia, Spain, France and Germany, among others. In the meantime, 2.786 Thai people have already returned with repatriation flights and have subsequently been quarantined. A total of 766 people are staying in 6.069 local quarantine facilities.

    Number of infections decreased, but unfortunately the number of suicides increased.
    Many have no money left and have not seen anything of that 5000 bath scheme.
