Bangkok bomb attack: 'Suspected main perpetrator arrested'
A man who closely resembles the prime suspect in the Bangkok bombing at the Erawan shrine has been arrested. The man was spotted by soldiers patrolling the border. The suspect was planning to cross the border into Cambodia at Ban Pa Rai in Aranyaprathet district (Sa Kaeo province).
It would be a 25-year-old man from the Chinese province of Xinjiang. This province is home to the Uighurs, a Muslim minority in China. The man was already arrested on Monday.
The suspect is currently being held and questioned. Furthermore, DNA tests and other forensic investigations will be done to determine whether he planted the bomb. Witnesses are being called to see if this is the man they saw.
However, Prayut has already announced that it concerns the main suspect who can be seen on camera images of the bomb attack, although this has yet to be confirmed by investigation.
Turkish involvement
The police reported last week to investigate whether there is possible Turkish involvement in the attacks. A 28-year-old Turk was previously arrested. It later turned out that he had a fake passport.

I don't think it really looks like the photo, nor does it look like the composition (?) photo and the reward has already been handed out, so that can't be the reason to think it is.
Fortunately, DNA tests are still being done to underline this. I'm secretly glad that my DNA traces are probably no longer to be found there because I haven't been there for a few months.
As almost everyone could have expected, another expression of cowardly Islamic figures.
Whether there is a connection with the Turkish government or affiliated groups?
The "spontaneously" organized protests against Thai targets arouse some suspicion.
Hopefully others will not follow this cowardly, inhumane example in Thailand.
.
Doesn't look like it at all. They already had it last week. Oh no, they're going to work with DNA again. On Koh Tau they were already so professional about this. All they want is to bring someone to justice quickly and show the outside world how good they are and how safe Thailand is. It is better for a few to rot in a Thai cell than for the tourists to stay away. Corrupt gang.
They are both badly shaved and they both wear glasses.
So it could very well be him.
Only the hair is probably not right when the cap is off.
It also seems to me that the real perpetrator would have left the same day if that is indeed a foreigner.
He seems taller and slimmer to me than the gentleman with the yellow shirt in the photo.
It remains interesting to follow the case from a distance. Perhaps the police know more than is being released. Apparently, the police interrogation of the previously arrested Turkish man already revealed the passenger route Sa kaew-Arranya-pratet and people have started to invest more in observation at the border. The arrested person was suspicious (also perpetrator profile???) and has butter on his head and belongs to the same group, which I understand from the information currently available. Prayut let us know that this is the main culprit, with restriction DNA research etc. What does he know that we don't know?? The camera images of the crime scene are too poor to allow proper identification of the perpetrator. The profile sketch drawing of witnesses present at the scene is not similar, but is also not strange, because this can deviate considerably. People are often not consciously engaged in looking at others and the ways of observing also differ quite a bit. All in all, often not a strong burden of proof.
So you will have to look for hard evidence if you want to prove this. Acting too quickly would be disastrous. The performance at the crime scene was again too bad to watch. No structure, apparently no clear working agreements. All sorts of things happened but rather quickly priority was given to clearing and cleaning the crime scene. Of course victim support has priority and the fact that there is still little experience with this type of attack plays a role. All kinds of people who walked over the crime scene and made away traces. The known I must be seen from the authorities present on site. Sad as it was, but in panic situations it is not given to everyone to keep a cool head. We'll see how it goes now.
In the meantime, 5 police officers who worked at the border post have been transferred. They thought too much of themselves. It was known that there was a lot of messing around there, we knew it, used it (not anymore) and they know that too.
They say themselves that the police know more than they release.
There are now 7 people signaled via Interpol, including the Turkish husband of the woman who mediated in apartment rental. The names and other details are known. The fingerprints of the second man were found in the apartment where the bomb was made.
It is clear that the two arrested suspects can withstand penetrating interrogation techniques, because they hardly let anything go
Another nice reaction from Jacques, we all learn something from it..
Again 2 different stories, in the Thai and Cambodian media.
When will the Thai media write the truth?
