After two years of talks, the use of the three dangerous chemical pesticides paraquat, glyphosate and chlorpyrifos has finally been banned.

The National Hazardous Substances Commission has given up its opposition and yesterday agreed to a ban consisting of moving the three substances from type 3 to type 4 on the list, prohibiting the manufacture, import, export and possession of the toxins .

Farmers are not happy with the decision because they fear that they will spend more money on alternative pesticides. The farmers' organization wants to go to the administrative court on Monday with a request to suspend the decision. If that fails, the farmers demand financial compensation that will run into the billions of baht.

Thinking about alternatives is apparently a bridge too far!

That poison-free food can lead to greater foreign exports,
    is also something to consider

Money is once again more important than human lives
