Dear readers,

I have reported to the SVB that I live with my Thai partner. My AOW will automatically be adjusted. Some time later I received a letter from the ABP stating that they received information from the SVB and subsequently increased the deductible when determining my pension.

Now I am not very well versed in that matter and have explained to the ABP that my partner is Thai, under 60 years old and has no income. Also not entitled to state pension because they have never been to the Netherlands. The ABP's answer did not pertain to my question, but related to whether or not to receive a partner allowance. The SVB did not respond to a request for an explanation twice.

I would therefore like to know whether the increased deductible, and therefore a reduction of the pension, can be applied in the case of non-Dutch persons who have no income and do not have state pension rights. In the event that it has been applied incorrectly, which information can be used as evidence in the event of an objection. After all, the partner only has a Thai passport and nothing else.

Thank you in advance.

Regards,

klaasje

I'm in the same boat. Both SVB and abp are tireless. Abp simply refers to SVB.
Would be glad if someone has a solution for this.

Same with me, but they seem to be allowed to do it. my AOW went up but ABP pension went down.
I contacted the pensions ombudsman (that had to be done in writing) and he forwarded my letter with his comments. I also received a letter from the ABP in which they were going to recalculate my pension. Promptly I received € 85 per month.
The ABP only responds to written questions, they brush you off by telephone. ABP helpdesk will not help you

    Use it to your advantage

I'm in the same situation, you're just not entitled to anything

interesting matter, but what about if you don't have a state pension yet, like me, and a Thai partner I live with. I'm with the ABP and they only want to accept my girlfriend as a partner if I have a cohabitation contract drawn up by a civil-law notary or marry my girlfriend or enter into a partnership registration. I want to enter into a partnership registration (equal to marriage) but my real question is whether this has consequences for the monthly premium I pay? Or should I wait until I almost reach retirement age (67)? I am not getting any clarity on this from ABP. Who knows the answer to this?

If you get married or draw up a cohabitation contract after you retire, your wife or girlfriend will NOT receive a survivor's pension

You must get married before you retire.

Depends on when you started living together or got married. The age of your partner is also important.
The information about this is clearly stated on the website of the SVB.

To be entitled to a partner allowance, you must be married or living together before 31.12.2015. The allowance is reduced by 2% per year that your partner is younger than 65 years.

The problem is not about the partner allowance, but about an increase in the deductible. That's something different. And I have not been able to find any information on the SVB site about the franchise.

I have also been married to a Thai woman for 12 years and I do not receive a partner allowance. I am from March 1951, but it saves almost 300 euros per month and I have never received any child benefit, which I was not entitled to according to the SVB. A person who only lives does get 100%. So I feel discriminated against.
