Slot machine addicts could have indulged themselves there: an area with 3.700 slots and draw tables. It was the harvest of three months of confiscations of the forbidden fruit.

But a pity for them: an excavator on Saturday at the site of the 11th Infantry Regiment in Bang Khen (Bangkok) dug into pinball machines, slot machines and horse racing machines. This happened under the watchful eye of police, soldiers and officials. In addition to the slot machines, 1.200 electronic circuit boards also had to die.

A similar operation took place at the King Naresuan base in Phitsanulok province. There, 180 vending machines and 160 circuit boards were crushed, which were confiscated in the North.

The result of the demolition frenzy is burned in a waste incinerator at Bangpoo industrial estate in Samut Prakan.

The machines could be confiscated thanks to a proclamation from the NCPO (junta), declaring them illegal. Previously, the police could only act if they caught a player red-handed.

According to Watcharapol Prasarnrajkit, acting chief of the Bangkok Municipal Police, each cabinet generates a daily amount of 1.000 to 20.000 baht. He finds them mainly harmful to young people.

Watcharapol thinks many cabinets are hidden, but production of the devices has stopped, he said, with the exception of the imported circuits. Police are trying to trace the owners of the seized devices.

What's the point, gambling cards and dice is so ingrained in the Thais, they get that
never get out. I live in the Isan every day there is gambling and even the ladies lost whole amounts
sell their gold jewelry to pay their debts. At first my girlfriend told me it was about 20 bath per jar, but it was hundreds of baths, even my girlfriend before I found out. She lost whole amounts and borrowed money from a Chinese Thai at a huge interest rate. Of course you can
say what a jerk you are Leen. I have lived with her for 9 years, a sweet, nice woman and I am 79 years old.
What's the point of leaving then, there are enough women in my village who want to join me
but what's the point of that. My mother will always be blessed, I will serve my time, I think there too
about that. I gave my girlfriend a large iPad as compensation, now she is playing 12 hours a day.
    Nice huh, ha ha.

    Greetings for how long, Leen.

And on the same iPad you can download the game of the RandomRunner, a slot machine that was very addictive about 15 to 20 years ago. If you have the game on the iPad, she can play without losing any money.

Leen, I hope she sticks to the games that are cheap. At the company where I work, a friend of a participant recently had all his money and chased away. Almost 100.000.00 euros. The participant himself was also a bit stupid. It concerned holiday money from someone in the construction industry. Signature forged so everything went to her account but he never checked. I also like to take a chance myself, but I know how far I can go. Make sure she doesn't buy on a credit card via iPad but an ITunes card from the store. Can there also be no misuse of the card. Children have also spent a lot of money from parents. Best wishes.

Meanwhile, gambling in boxing matches and cockfights continues… and if you still want to gamble secretly, all you need is a deck of cards or a set of dice.

Go and have a look at the border, because just across the border of Cambodia, Burma and Laos are large casinos, often owned by high-ranking Thais, where ordinary Thai people go to gamble in large numbers, but there are also many Thai car dealers, who buy cars from gamblers who have incurred too many gambling debts for far below the price, and that seems to be a very good trade there, but you have to know your way around and have the right contacts, of course, because that's where you just come not in between.
