ProRail is doubling the track north of Schiphol. In the weekend of 24 and 25 September, therefore, no train traffic will be possible between the airport and Amsterdam Sloterdijk/Duivendrecht-Diemen Zuid/Amsterdam Bijlmer Arena.

The work will start this weekend in the night of Friday 23 to Saturday 24 September. Train traffic will resume on Monday morning, September 26, at 05.00:15. Travelers must take into account detours, extra transfers or use of the bus or metro. Additional travel time is between 30 and XNUMX minutes. Trains do run between Schiphol and Leiden/The Hague/Rotterdam. NS advises travelers to consult the NS Travel Planner before departure. Additional service personnel will be deployed at the stations to assist travelers. At Schiphol station and Amsterdam Sloterdijk, porters support travelers in carrying their luggage on Saturdays and Sundays.

ProRail is building new tracks towards Schiphol. The work is almost finished: a new and high-frequency rail network between Almere and Schiphol will be in place by mid-December. There will then be four instead of two Intercity trains per hour on that route. Rijkswaterstaat is working on the construction of a viaduct over the A9 and the Schiphol railway line for the new A4 near Badhoevedorp. In the night of Saturday 25 September to Sunday 26 September, concrete girders will be placed in front of the viaduct. This has consequences for road traffic at night, but Schiphol remains accessible by road. Information about the consequences for train traffic can be found at: ns.nl/treinverkeerschiphol.
