Travelers who want to demonstrate that they have been vaccinated against Covid-19 will soon have to be patient. The RIVM expects that it will only be possible to view your own data about your vaccination against the corona virus at the end of March and the beginning of April.

You can log in with DigiD via a special website. The data can be downloaded to serve, for example, as proof of vaccination, which may be required by Thailand in the future to be allowed to travel into the country. The data comes from a database that keeps track of who has received which vaccine.

According to the Ministry of Health, vaccination will not start until January. Certainly before January 18, but when exactly is not yet known. There will be a plan next Monday, according to the ministry.

While vaccination is already in full swing in England, Canada and the US, the Netherlands is waiting for approval from the EMA, which will be a fact on Monday. Germany and other European countries will start vaccinating this year. Our country is hopelessly behind and will not start until 18 January at the latest.

Vaccination expert Herman van der Weide mentions in Nieuwsuur that it is "inconceivable" that it took so long to draw up a plan to vaccinate the population. “We already knew in March that there would be a vaccine.” According to Van der Weide, a lot of time has been lost.

Actually, I'm not even surprised about this anymore.
Like so many things in the entire Corona process, this is too late and insufficiently thought through. Date and method of processing will also change a few times.
I think it would be wise to make a proper evaluation after this pandemic has ended and to carry out a thorough reorganization at RIVM.

Totally agree with you French. I'm not even surprised about it anymore, and that's actually the worst part. I still have a vaccination booklet. Why not simply put a new stamp with signature in it. In Thailand they love stamps.

Not responding in time. RIVM has left more behind. Little learning ability it seems.

I'll wonder if this will also work for those not registered in NL who are vaccinated in NL for whatever reason. This group is usually not considered by the government.

Let's hope it is available in English. Or that it is a worldwide universal format. They are so clumsy with those authorities that it may not have been thought of.

It would be good if there was an international proof, because if each country starts making its own vaccination certificate, it will only encourage fraud.

    M curious…
Hope it doesn't also go through the ca, such as for taking medication with you.
    viz. another extra hurdle.

Madness at its finest. If the EMA gives approval, there will be another club that also has to look at some things. I don't know which rabbit will be pulled out of the hat. All those other countries are apparently a bunch of fools who have started vaccinating completely irresponsibly. This will probably be understood as poldering. That is why vaccination will be postponed for a while. And of course the holy RIVM has to organize everything again. Too crazy for words that it has to take months to arrange for a vaccination certificate to be issued. They've known that for months. A decent programmer can arrange that within a few days. But we can't make it more fun just by using a slogan. A lot of things went wrong there and “we were not aware of it,” as we say.

Does having a vaccination mean that a PCR test is no longer necessary.

Most expats have a (yellow) vaccination booklet in which all injections are noted. The vaccination data does not then need to be downloaded.

If a PCR test becomes unnecessary, many will decide to get an injection!
