Although the tourist areas in the south have so far remained unaffected, a warning has been issued for the south today Thailand including Phuket and Krabi.

In 'Bangkok Post' it can be read that the Thai 'Interior Ministry's Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department' has issued a warning for 15 southern provinces.

Heavy rain and possible flooding

The Ministry comes with the message that from today, October 27 to October 31, there may be heavy rains and possible flooding in the following provinces:

Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Ranong, Phangnga, Phuket, Krabi, Trang, Satun, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat.

The warning is based on a report from the Meteorological Service that the northeast monsoon will reach the Gulf of Thailand and the South. Heavy rain showers are expected in the coming days, through October 31. This creates the danger of flooding and mudslides.

Wiboon Sanguanpong, director general of the Department, advises everyone in the area, especially those living on the banks of the rivers, to keep a close eye on the weather forecast. Weather forecasts and warnings can be found on the website of the Thai KNMI

I am very curious how it is in Cha-am at the moment.
    Is there flooding there?
Can you inform me about that?

In Cha am, only water can be found in the sea. There is no question of flooding. But what is not, can still come in Thailand…

    • Until yesterday nothing happened. Chaam and Hua Hin are far outside the affected areas. The weather warning does not cover that area.

my wife has been stuck in a village of phimai for weeks. She says you're an old sailor come and get me.

    • Haha, with an inflatable boat? But still a lot of conditions. Hopefully she can get out of there soon.

What is the weather like in Pattaya and the surrounding area?
