Mixx Discotheque Bangkok – Dance till you drop!
Going out in the cosmopolitan city of Bangkok is a party in itself. You won't get bored easily. In addition to the countless restaurants, cinemas and bars, there are world-class nightclubs and discotheques.
One of them is the Mixx Discotheque in Bangkok (there is also a Mixx Discotheque in Pattaya). Voted the best nightclub in Thailand in 2012 and 2013 (True Vision Best of Thailand Awards).
This nightclub has two rooms with different music styles. In room 1 the DJs play Hip Hop and R&B. The Vintage DJ plays old disco songs that even the seniors among us can dance to. Room 2 is the place to be for the rougher stuff: House, Trance & Progressive. DJ Andy (UK) and DJ Eddie Pay from Germany turn it into a huge dance party.
Every Friday and Saturday night there is a theme night such as a Fashion TV Model Party!
The Mixx Discotheque in Bangkok is open from 22.00 p.m. until well into the night. You can find the Mixx in the Chitlom district on the ground floor of the Intercontinental Hotel (next to Gaysorn Plaza).

I like disco bars, I live in Hua Hin, so my home disco is Hilton disco. I also sometimes go to the Thai place Luknam Pub with one or the other girlfriend, quite an experience. Every evening you can enjoy an excellent band (8 men) with 2 nice singers. Recently I was out and about in BKK and dared to explore CM2, one of the infamous night temples in Siam Square. I was firmly stopped by the doorman at the entrance, I was wearing sandals without socks. No problem, the porter had a pair of socks in stock and for 100 baht extra I could enter anyway. I was wearing shorts but this was no problem, they were long shorts and my knees were covered. I paid 600 bath entrance fee and for this I received 2 drink coupons. I didn't find the disco anything special now. A band until midnight, then the DJ does his show. When I walked through the disco I noticed that there were quite a number of young European women, especially blondes, usually very provocatively dressed. Maybe some busload of tourists I thought. At one point I was approached by one of the ladies. She came from Ukraine like most others and told me that she was on holiday in Thailand for one month. She also told me that she had spent all her money and that she would like it if I gave her some money for a night of fun. I was disappointed, you come to BKK once looking for some nice Thai beauty but not to run into a Russian freelancer.
Have you been here? Ridiculous prices for drinks. Room 1 is full of Thai prostitutes and room 2 (the smoking room) with prostitutes from Uzbekistan. To each his own of course.
Where should we Dutch go Jan? I like discotheques and live music. I wear hearing protection so I can handle quite a bit in terms of noise. I'm not into Amsterdam pubs and old men's pubs like almost all Dutch cafes. All tips are welcome.
