Dear readers,

Have you been wondering for a long time whether there are rules that can prohibit the use of agricultural poison if this happens right next to your bathroom and bedroom window, and actually affects the whole village?

We are surrounded on 2 sides by farmland. This was rented to a farmer who, according to an agreement with us, only sowed corn (which requires little chemistry) and was the only nuisance when they started to burn the stalks.

Now another farmer has rented the land and is going to grow onions. Which, according to hear and say, requires a lot of poison every day. There is no talking to this person, and he has already plowed the place and prepared it for sowing.

Are there rules for residential areas regarding the very harmful agricultural poison Paraquat and others, which may still be used in Thailand?

Regards,

Tui and W Linssen

Lines ? Farang against Thai ?
    Good luck.
I'm afraid moving will be the best solution for you.

rules are there in Thailand to be ignored, so whether or not there are rules, they do what they want anyway. I haven't heard of burning corn yet, but I think the sugar cane is what the neighbor will grow. Good luck, but I'm afraid that you have to settle for it.

I do not know either. I do know that in every town there is an agricultural office where information is provided. You can ask there. It's called something like สำนักการเกษตร samnak kaankaseet

Although… when I had a question about our mango orchard about 17 years ago, the man wanted a bottle of whiskey first.
