Who knows the way around Suvarnabhumi Airport?
Dear readers,
I will soon land at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi then I will have a domestic flight to Surat Thani (separate airlines). I know that I have to check out completely again and then check in again for the domestic flight. Now I would like to know my walking route (or which directions I should follow) for the following?
After checking out I would like to exchange money (in the basement) and buy a SIM card. Then proceed to check-in. Who knows exactly which directions I should follow and how I can get from the check-out area back to the check-in area?
Regards,
Snowy
Hi Milou, with which airline do you fly to Surat Thani? Some airlines fly from Don Muang Airport.
So maybe you should give a little more information.
Good luck Any.
If you speak English, there may be someone who can refer you to the check-in desk after you have collected your bags from the belt.
There are also signs that you can read.
don't worry after customs take a lift to the basement and then the lift to
departures. here look for the signs where you have to check in . if you fly on from swampie because many domestic flights go from Don Muang
There are 2 possibilities:
Either you fly with the same airline and you don't have to check out.
Upon landing, simply go to the intersection of gates A, B and C or those of D, E and F and there you can take your flight after security and pass control.
Or you fly with 2 separate airlines, you have to go through immigration, pick up your suitcase and simply go back to level +4 to check in with the chosen airline, which you will find on the screen.
Then go to the domestic flights entrance, security indicated in the ticket hall and you will find your gate there.
It depends on which airline you fly through Milou..
If it is AirAsia you have to go to another airport (DonMuang)
You arrive at level 2. There you take the elevator / escalator to the basement to exchange money. Then you go back to level 2 to buy your SIM card from AIS, DTAC or TRUE MOVE. You can also buy a SIM card in any 7/11 or family market.
To check in again, go to level 4 on the left side (domestic).
https://www.bangkokairportonline.com/suvarnabhumi-airport-terminal-map/
For check-in, go to the 4th floor, by elevator or escalator. When you arrive you will find domestic flights on your left and international flights on your right. At the check-in counters of domestic flights you will find an electronic timetable board, alternating in thai and our alphabet, where you have to check in. After checking in, walk straight ahead to the back and your departure gate is stated on your boarding pass.
First go through the security check, after which everything is indicated excellently, you can't go wrong.
You can download a map from the Internet. And there are plenty of signposts to help you on your way.
When you land you go to the exit, there on the signs it is very clearly indicated.
Child does the laundry, and otherwise just ask the people who work there they are very helpful.
And it is better to change some money at the bank in the place where you are going, just pay attention to the exchange rate, which is well indicated at every bank at the window on signs.
At super rich, down by the rail link.
As at all airports, it is well signposted, you do not always end up at the same gate! ditto before departure! just make sure you have to check out and check in at the same airport! airport is not the cheapest place to exchange money, better bring a small amount of bath! Sim cards also for sale everywhere!
After checking out, go to the basement to change money at a Super Rich office at the BTS and train connection. Then floor 'departures' and if you face in, the far left is the domestic flights. I thought it was A and B column. For the SIM card, I owe the answer. Good trip.
Dear,
It is best to ask that question at the airport. This is also clearly indicated.
Hello Milo,
Your (international) arrival is on a different floor than domestic departure (domestic). When you have passed immigration and have done your shopping, take the elevator or escalator to the top floor and find the right terminal. Also see https://www.thailandblog.nl/vervoer-verkeer/bangkok-airport/ on this site.
Have fun in Thailand!
Nico
I don't think you need to check out and check in at all. You can just walk from international to domestic. It's a nice ending. Follow the signs. Here's a map:
https://www.bangkokairportonline.com/suvarnabhumi-airport-terminal-map/
But are you sure that your domestic flight departs from here and not from Don Muang? Because I made that mistake 2 years ago. 😉 Luckily I had plenty of transfer time.
Walk with the masses from your plane and you will arrive at immigration and then at the luggage. You write that you have a domestic flight, so look for the 'domestic' signs if you are sure that you will continue to fly from that airport. It says on your ticket: BKK is Suwannaphum. Moreover, you have a Dutch or Flemish mouth and you are free to ask questions..... There are information desks and you can go there with English. Good luck.
Just follow the signs “Domestic Flights”!
You can also exchange money and buy a SIM card in the arrivals hall!
Check your ticket carefully.
Most domestic flights do not fly from Suvarnabumi, but you have to take the train or taxi to the other airport in the city: Don Muang.
Hope you have enough transfer because you need quite a lot of time to walk from the plane to the immigration. Then there is a (long) queue for passport control, and then maybe to the other airport….
I would check my ticket again: there are only 2 flights per day between Suvarnabhumi and Surat Thani (Thai Smile), and more than 20 per day from Don Mueang.
………..and if you had to go to Don Mueang, don't look for the train Alex mentions above, because it doesn't run between the two airports. The shuttle bus is the preferred mode of transport.
If you need to check in again, as usual at any airport in the world, first follow the "departure" indication that is clearly written everywhere,
Once there, look at the clue table in which row, A, B, C. etc. you have to check in for your flight number and airline.
After checking in you follow the indication "domestic flight" where you go through the security check again, and you can also read exactly on the indication table which Boarding Gate your flight departs from.
You really don't have to be a language phenomenon, if you know how to find your airline and flight no. is written, then a Child can do the laundry.
None of the Thailand blog readers can already tell you exactly, or they have a crystal ball where the future is stated, where you can find your gate for your connecting flight, because these gates are often changed spontaneously. (Hence it is always recommended to pay attention to the clue tables yourself.
Oh and if you fly from Don Mueng ferry to the other airport in Bangkok, you can take the shuttle bus there, on presentation of your ticket it is also free.
every hour there is a shuttle bus to donmuang airport. this is free on presentation of your ticket. it is well signposted. i thought on the 2nd floor. i will go the same route again in 3 weeks. very easy
Hello Milo,
I have been coming to Thailand for years.
Look on your ticket which airport you need to go to.
If you have to go to Don Muang you take the shuttle bus and it takes about 1 hour.
Just follow the signs to it. If you stay on suvarnabhumi, go to departures, it's self-explanatory.
If you go to the basement on subvarnabhumi you will find Superrich and it will give you the best exchange rate.
When you have exchanged your money, go to the arrivals hall and buy a SIM card from AIS, for example, but there are also others.
Have fun Milo!
Dear Milo
Domestic flight Surat Thani ; Lion Air, Nok Air or Air Asia.
Arrival Suvarna……. passport control…..collecting luggage…….exit.
in the arrival hall on the ground floor take exit 3, take the right side shutle-bus (free). Departs every 20 min.
hour to Don Meuang. Bus stops at terminal 2
Hold diagonally to the right in the terminal and there you will see the different counters for your airline's ticket.
Simple right??
Thai Smile flies to Surat Thani from Suvarnabhumi, albeit only 2x a day……..
