Reader question: Where can you go out in Bangkok?
Hello everyone,
In a few months it will be our first trip to Thailand. Because we also do Bangkok for a few days, we have the following question.
Where can you go out in Bangkok as a foreigner? What we're not looking for is those bars with prostitutes and stuff. What we're looking for is clubs with DJs, discotheques and the occasional live band. Also is there a central entertainment area?
We think it would be fun to go out where many Thai people come? Is that possible and is it safe?
Please tips and advice.
Thank you very much.
Eddy
Route 66 is a very famous nightclub here in Bangkok, tourists and Thai come here, this club is divided into three rooms, each room plays its own music style in the first room they mainly play trance and techno with local and international DJs, in room two mainly play Thai pop music, and in room three American Hip Hop.
What is also great fun to visit once is the Holland beer house, except that there is a mill in front of the door, it has nothing to do with Holland.
Here you can enjoy a Dutch beer and be treated to a wonderful show full of Thai artists, in a really great Thai swear one Thai pop song is played after another, the room goes wild from the first song, definitely recommended .
Hahaha dear Eddie. I already notice from your question that it is the first time that you are going to visit Thailand. Discotheques Pattaya, Bangkok or whichever real tourist place you visit. Where do you think prostitutes hang out? In this case we call them freelancers. These are girls who don't work in a bar, but try to bring someone from a nightclub or bar. Of course you have to pay for this. It may be clear where the foreign tourist is located, they are also located. Beergarden, soi 7 Sukumvhit seems like a fun learning process and fun too! There are plenty of nightclubs all over Bangkok. Central entertainment venues Nana and Soi Cowboy are a must! Good band and more expensive segment is your must be Hard Rock Cafe in Siam Square. Have a nice trip to beautiful Thailand!
Entertainment area in Bangkok where many Thai but also tourists come is RCA (Royal City Avenue). Wide choice of nightclubs and bars. My favorites:
– Slim/Flix
- Road 66
As a tourist you pay entrance here and the Thai enter for free. Entrance fee is often equal to the price of 2 drinks and upon entry you get………..2 free drinks. Or a big discount on a bottle of drink.
A few minutes by car from here:
– Club NarZ
Great beautiful nightclub with mainly Thai but also tourists. Occasionally there are movie premiere parties, theme nights or international DJs (for example Carl Cox)
This club gets going late so my advice is to end your night out here.
Places where you should be if you only want to be among the Thai:
- Demo
– Safehouse
– Nangling
- Escobar
All located in Thonglor district (Sukhumvit soi 55). In my opinion safer than other places to go out in Bangkok because fewer tourists come here. These clubs are loved by the wealthier and modern youth of Bangkok.
Sukhumvit soi 11 is a mishmash of bars, clubs and restaurants. My favorites:
– QBar
– Levels
– Above Eleven
– Bed Supper Club
Or a drink on the street, ordered in a pimped van with loud music.
For all these occasions, you must at least look neat (casual) if you want to enter.
If you prefer to go on your flip flops and get drunk in shorts, I can only recommend one thing:
Khaosan Road.
You can do whatever you want here 24 hours a day. Mainly tourists.
Especially if you go out with a group, it can be useful to know the following: In a club it is of course much cheaper to buy a separate bottle of drink and a few mixers than to order your whiskey cola or other mixes separately. But if you visit several clubs in 1 evening and you want to keep up, such a large bottle of whiskey in each club is a lot. In Bangkok there is often the option to store your bottle and continue with it at a later time. When you decide it's time for the next club, make it clear that you're leaving. The employee marks on the bottle where you left off, numbers the bottle and gives you a ticket with the same number and an indication of the amount of drink in the bottle. Useful!
Have fun walking in Bangkok!
There are several free Google APPS that give you an overview of all aspects of Bangkok. Because I assume that you also need information about restaurants and transport. In addition, you can download free maps of Bangkok as long as you do not use a Navi?. Martin
Hereby I miss the saxophone (saxophone) near Victory Monument. A cozy jazz club with live performances and real people from Bangkok. You can also eat something there.
By the way, the discotheques in the vicinity of Patpong, Chitlom, Nana and the like are not bad if you like to dance. The “prostitutes” that are there usually leave you alone. And when you get in touch, it's 99% of a friendly nature.
I would ignore the real nightclubs where you are lured with cheap drinks and erotic shows. Degrading and also a rip off.
BED is closed=closed since 1/9 or so.
Holland Beer Hse started its life as HEINEKEN Beer Hse (in the period that this brand started there) and is located many 10 Kms from central BKK along Ram 2. Spread over BKK there are several large party halls with almost identical programs.
Incidentally, for many it will cost the necessary adjustment to how things are done in the average Thai party hall / disco. going there in your 1tje is almost never that much fun.
Hey,
i have been going to bangkok for 7 years…. Climax is a dance tent that has DJs doing gun performances and 4 live bands performing every night… a good place for music and fun… is not a nightclub…. good advice, if you like to drink a glass, order a bottle at the entrance, so you do not have to pay an entrance fee, and if the bottle is not empty, you can have it put aside for the day or a few days afterwards, and you do not have to return it pay entrance… a nice bonus I would say… best days Friday and Saturday evening from 23.30 pm, the rest of the days the club is also open… have fun I would say.
and you also have insomnia, but there is only dance music, no live clubs
Come to 55 Sukhumvit Road, Soi THONG LO!!!
You will find everything that the nightlife can offer, but no prostitution, as you want it.
Actually, Thong Lo is not much as long as it is ready, but once the sun goes down it will be the real Thong Lo !!
Also easy to reach with the BTS (Skytrain), BTS station Thong Lo.
Lots of fun.
Often only Thai, but no less fun.
Saphan Khwai district
From Ari on the right side a number of streets with many bars with Thai and Western music.
of course also a lot of karaoke there
sorry thanks a little too fast and last performed may be unclear
With the skytrain from the direction of Ari get off at Saphan Khwai and then on the right side the soi's
Best club/bar in Bangkok right now is “Maggie Choo” under the Novotel Fenix Silom. It looks like a Chinese opium den from the XNUMXs. Totally awesome !
