Dear readers,

My question is whether there are flights from Hua Hin to Chiang Mai or Chiang Rai and which airlines provide them?

Best regards,

Patrick

Hi Patrick, I just checked and there is nothing to be found. However, a webpage about flights from Hua Hin to other destinations. The only one was a daily flight to Bangkok. I don't know how old this post is, but apparently there is no way to fly anywhere from Hua Hin: http://www.domesticflightsthailand.com/HuaHinAirport.htm

You can fly from HH to Don Mueang and to Singapore three times a week. That's it. And those flights are not (always) certain either. Now that the Majesty lives here permanently, there is a keen eye for noise nuisance.

This is the website of Hua Hin airport and it says that the flights to and from Bangkok are cxl and that means cancelled.

So it will be train, express bus, minivan or private limousine (= Thai for sedan….)

And the flights to Singapore have also apparently stopped. So apparently there is no market for flight connections from HH. Once there was also a flight to U Tapao near Pattaya and you could take a fast boat from HH to Pattaya. The connections are disappearing faster than this blog can announce…

The best and fastest method is to take the VIP bus to Hua hin at gate 8, no plane can beat it.

    Hi Patrick,

No. Hua Hin has closed its airport for this.
You then have to take a taxi to Bangkok and then fly to Chiang Mai or Rai.

Patrick, it is best from Hua Hin, with a minibus for 200Bath (yes, two hundred) officially several times a day to Don Muang, departure from the main road past the Shopping, I still have a photo of it somewhere .., perfect! the Toyota vans and drivers are very good, and thought we drove them for two hours .., you will be dropped off next to the train at the airport, it couldn't be better !!
across the bridge and you're there, it's best to book in advance with Air Asia, then you're cheap in an hour in Chiang Mai! ps don't pay 2000,-Bath as so many ask for this ride, you're in a neat minibus with max about 10 people .., grtjs ,))
