Buying Viagra in Thailand, is it safe?

Dear readers,

In Thailand you can buy Viagra everywhere in the pharmacy. They are neatly packed in boxes, just like in the Netherlands. Is what the pharmacy sells safe, or do you get fake stuff?

Regards,

Henk

My experience is that even what you buy on the street is good. At first I wanted to use the word safe, but that's not really the case, of course. But my experiences have been fine.
Buying things in a pharmacy is of course better.
By the way, I wouldn't buy the real Viagra but the Thai alternative. It contains the same substances but is a lot cheaper.

    Hank,
the Thai brand is Serafil and you cannot get it without a prescription at all pharmacies. 10 years ago, the Thai government purchased a few million doses. They must be gone by now. Comes from India.
There is a lot of rubbish on the market, including from Myanmar, the packaging looks exactly like Viagra, but you recognize it due to errors in the spelling of the English instructions for use. The best option is a short visit to a doctor in a hospital and the pharmacies in most hospitals have it in stock. Costs something but is safer than the many real-looking junk.

In the beginning I was once “dropped off” in a pharmacy when purchasing Kamagra (jelly).
My experience is that that of the street sellers has/is the same effect.
They therefore come from under the counter and are therefore not in view.
Where a pharmacy quickly asks B40 for 1 sachet, I buy a whole box (50 pieces) on the street for only B800.
Maybe it helps because I greet them in Thai and ask how much such a box is. That it makes them think that I am not a tourist (anymore).

    Sidegra 100 mg.
Pharmacy 180 TB box of 4.
No idea what 50 mg costs...
    possibly breaking through .?
Unfortunately, breaking through is not for me...

The active substance of Sidegra is Sildenafil and therefore exactly the same medicine as Viagra. The only difference is that Sidegra is made in Thailand.
Available in most good pharmacies. Thought about 250 Baht for a box of 4 pills of 100 mg.

But the Indian Kamagra is also fine. Costs almost nothing more. Sildenafil is no longer an expensive substance and the patent on it has long since expired, so you really have to look for a fake.

Generic Viagra is now also for sale in B or NL under the name Sildenafil, for around 30 euros for 12 pills of 100 (only on prescription).
