Home » Reader question » Reader Question: Transfer from Phuket Airport to Khao Sok National Park
Dear readers,
My partner and I are leaving on November 14. to Thailand, we have booked our trip ourselves in separate parts. The only thing we have not been able to find is where we can easily find transportation from Phuket Airport to Khao Sok National Park.
Is it easy to find the bus connection at Phuket Airport? Do you recommend this local bus? Or should we take a private minivan that the hotel recommends?
Thanks in advance for the advice.
Greetings,
Eve & Sven
Dear Eva & Sven,
We went from Khao Sok to Phuket by regular bus.
Works well and is affordable.
An advantage is that there are no kamikaze drivers behind the wheel and you don't have to fear for your life. Unfortunately, we do have that experience with a minivan!
If you don't want that I would take a taxi as an alternative, but the normal bus connection is fine!
You go by taxi or tuk-tuk to the bus station and from there to Khao Sok. You will be dropped at the exit, there you will contact your hotel and they will pick you up. It is too far to walk to get to your hotel.
Good luck, Anja
You can easily book a nice trip at Tree top jungle safari http://www.treetops.co.th in Khao Sok. They pick you up in Phuket and afterwards they take you either to Phuket or to Surat Thani. I liked it there then.
Greeting, Rob
Hello.
I am currently in phuket with my girlfriend.
As a first response to comment 1, there are no tuk tuks from Airport.
There are 4 flavours:
1 On arrival take the Airport bus from the left
2 you walk out of the Airport and I think there are 10 counters where you can order a taxi, nothing can be arranged with a separate driver at the Airport itself
3 a mini van at one of these same counters
4 Walk out of the airport, then walk 500 meters along the highway to a village and take cheaper transport there (you save the airport tax)
Thereafter,
Do not take a tree top in advance if you are in phuket itself you can choose again:
You take a mini van, drove fine, nothing wrong, already had a lot of rides.
Are sold at all excursion counters.
A bus
Or a taxi
Once you arrive at khao sok, you can choose from a dozen tour providers at the entrance and negotiate the price
Don't worry it's low season there is MORERRR than place.
Yesterday we did the speedboat tour to James bond and did the rest.
To get the boat full instead of paying 3800 bath pp 1800.
Had a great day.
More than worth it.
Good luck and have fun tomorrow we leave for Phi Phi for 5 days and then return to Phuket for 2 days tattooing.
Greetings
