Extend visa and temporarily no 800.000 baht in the account?
Dear readers,
My Non-immigrant entry permit will expire soon. I have 805.000 baht in the bank for several months, so nothing wrong. Yesterday I go to an ATM and withdraw 20.000 baht. I thought my pension had already been paid.
To my delight that was not the case, so there is no more 8 tons of baht on my account. I quickly went to the bank and quickly refunded it. But for 30 minutes there was not 8 tons on my account.
What do you think the immigration will do (Korat)? The rule is 8 tons 3 months on your account.
Regards,
Aad
In principle, you could run into a problem with that.
We have experienced that, but it was a difference of 100.000 bath, removed and 1 hour later it was on again. The best man had to wait 1 month for his visa, for him that was not a problem because he was married and therefore also extended visa 1 month earlier due to all kinds of investigations they do, even checking at his home.
But since this is a very small amount, they can overlook it and you can point out that you must have 65.000 p / m and that is 780.000 per year and from your story you are still above that.
So I think it ends with a fizzle.
No. 780 000 Baht in the bank, because this is 12×65000 Baht, is insufficient and completely wrong.
It is minimum 65000 Baht per month income (with proof of income),
or a bank amount of 800 Baht (with bank receipt),
or a combination of bank amount and income that is 800 Baht on an annual basis (with proof of income and bank receipt).
Not an amount of 780 Baht in the bank because this is also 000 x 12.
And I would be careful with immigration to point out how it works.
Especially if you are wrong yourself.
RonnyLatPhrao;
They are people at immigration and really, they are reasonable and especially if you have everything else in order.
Look at my previous story, that 100.000 has not been on it for 3 months either. So it is very possible if well explained if they ask that you obtain visa normally.
We should not always criticize everything, often it also depends on the person himself.
Roel,
I know quite well how immigration works and I am not claiming that he will be refused if you would read and understand my previous comments.
There I write “Some will overlook it because it was returned immediately. Others will simply refuse your year extension because of those 30 minutes.”
But claiming that 780 Baht as a bank amount is also sufficient because this is equal to 000 x 12 Baht is nonsense. You can't get away with that with immigration.
Moreover, your 100 Baht story is very confusing to me.
Then he had to wait a month according to you, then you start about being married and that it was no problem and he only got it a month earlier…. ?
As I understand it, he did not receive that extension (not visa) as “Retired” because he withdrew that money and opted for the “Thai marriage”. Then it's not a problem after all. For a “Thai marriage” only 400 Baht is needed. In that case it didn't even matter that he went 000 Baht below the 100 Baht, because he only needed 000 Baht.
Besides, “all kinds of investigations they do, even checks at his home”. Anyone who has already had to deal with a “Thai marriage” extension, or knows something about it, knows that you first receive an “under consideration” stamp for one month (this is sometimes also applied to “retired” by the way). That is precisely to carry out those visits and checks and is a very normal procedure for a “Thai Marriage” renewal.
You can agree that they are people on immigration and we should indeed not always criticize everything. Very often it is indeed the person himself who does not really know how things work...
1. You are now at the mercy of the immigration officer for that 800 000 Baht.
Can't predict how they will react
Some will overlook it because it was immediately deposited back.
Others will simply refuse your annual renewal for those 30 minutes.
2. If it is not accepted, there is still the option to work with an income, i.e. with a visa support letter from the embassy
This is possible for the full amount, ie =/+ 65 Baht income per month
If that doesn't work, there is the combination of income/bank amount that you can use. This must amount to a total of 800 Baht on an annual basis.
You already have 785 Baht as a bank amount. So you no longer need much income.
Good luck and put on your most beautiful smile I would say.
By the way, there is no such thing as a Non-immigrant entry permit... it is a one-year extension based on 'Retirement'. 😉
I don't think the problem is immigration, but the bank.
If the bank issues a statement that the 800k were on it for 3 months, then there is no problem.
So you will have to explain things to the bank employee and look sweetly in the eye.
First consult with your bank.
Then you forget that you also have to make a copy of your bank book in addition to the bank statement. People will see that too and you can't get rid of it.
The solution may then lie in not updating the bank book. Because I never do and take out money at least 2 or 3 times a week.
Whenever I do an update, there are only the latest bookings or the machine tells me that I have to go in for a new bankbook, they often fill up quickly.
You are obliged to make an update of the day itself.
And, yes, I know that if you ask little of those updates, the next update will only show the transactions per day of the last three months or last month in the booklet.
The previous period is only summarized in two numbers, i.e. a number that summarizes what has been added in total during that period and a number that summarizes what has been lost in total during that period. You can no longer see from those numbers when and how much has been added. was collected or added on a certain day. To do this, you must ask the bank for a printout of that period.
But Immigrate also knows how that works. Don't worry.
If in doubt, they will send you back to the bank to request a complete printout of that period.
In Korat, the Immigration asks for a bank transaction on the day of the renewal and then the updated passbook to include all bank transactions up to and including the day of the renewal
Experienced it myself years ago, same had absorbed 10.000 bath of the 800.000 bath was on it for 3 months.
Thought money was deposited, not so, immediately returned to the bank, money deposited back.
Had to go to Emigration there was a student who was learning, she looked very carefully and was able to reach the senior officer.
He didn't accept it, had to start the whole procedure all over again.
Since Emigration is not the epitome of friendliness, you must be very lucky. Otherwise you have a big problem.
Get well soon.
Robert
From now on, first check your balance on the ATM during those 3 months. That goes through in one effort. Then you will no longer be faced with such an unpleasant experience.
Also experienced with a German acquaintance, Immigration Rayong was difficult and unrelenting. We dragged him through, cup of tea cost 10.000 THB. The acquaintance tried to haggle for 5.000 THB, but it certainly did not work, 10.000 was needed to do the "extra" work for him.
When it comes to Immigration you should not THINK that your pension has already been paid, you should KNOW that, especially if you have just over 8 tons in balance and withdraw 20.000.
Why not arrange with certainty? Transfer those 8 tons to a separate account and Kees is done, keep in mind that the costs of your ATM card are debited annually.
With 20.000 THB as a pension, per month?, you have enough in addition to the 785.000 THB.
Success.

Years ago I had 800.000 baht that I use for renewal one day before I went to immigration back to a fixed account for 11 months including the interest that was credited in the last 11 months. The letter from the bank was therefore also from the day before, but was not accepted. Because the day I came to immigration, the amount was only in the bank account for 1 day according to their reasoning. It didn't matter that I hadn't withdrawn anything, but was put on a new fixed account.
Fortunately, I had another account that had more than 800.000 in it for months, so I had to start all over again.
I don't foresee a problem. All the more so they have access to the bank book with transactions and they see that it has been refunded immediately. Just briefly explain that it was recorded by mistake and any sane person will understand and say sorry to the officer in Thai. Just have the years of experience in Korat that everyone is nice.
Advise you to put the 800.000 in a separate account and not to mix it with other transactions. I personally use 2 accounts for the 800.000, namely a fixed account on which I put the money on the same day that I receive my new annual renewal for a 6-month term and afterwards it is extended for 3 months (my bank does not have a 9-month term). hence). After these 9 months, transfer immediately to a regular account. You often get 1% interest, after deduction of interest tax, but for 9 months that is another 6000 baht.
Why do you have to overflow that? At Bangkokbank you can choose between 4-7 or 11 months fixed on a fixed account.
So if I'm going to renew after 12 months I get that bank letter on the fixed account and arrange the renewal. Then I put it back in place for 11 months but do not deposit it into the savings account. According to the official rules, a fixed account is also sufficient for immigration and inmkorat is accepted in any case.
The easiest and safest is to have a Thai bank account with min. 800.000 THB that you keep in it all year long, even including the interest accrued year after year. And use this account for nothing else. This way you never have problems or stress states. And it is a nice extra for your Thai wife or girlfriend.
Just a question though.
Had 900.000 Bath put on a Fixed account for 12 months.
Are you obliged to always switch that money to your regular account in order to obtain an extension of your retirement.
In other words, you can use a 12-month Fixid account to extend your visa.

As is usually the case with immigration, this is also a rule that is not applied in the same way everywhere and depends on the rules that your local immigration office has.
I think most will accept a fixed account.
But some also want the money to be in an account where the money is immediately available.
Please let readers know which immigration office you are going to. Those who go there can certainly inform you about it, or inquire locally yourself is the best advice I can give you.
I've already answered that.
If you have 800000 baht in your account and suddenly dies your Thai wife just won't get your money, you have to go to a lawyer first and have papers made so she can inherit it, they told me. I don't know if this is true because when asked at the bank they didn't give a straight answer
Yes, but that may be something for a separate item. A court decision is often required, but 'us knows us' also occurs so that there are no formalities involved in the transfer. I have experienced both possibilities first hand.
As long as the bank does not know that you have died, it can simply withdraw money.
If you die, your wife cannot just dispose of your money, you must have everything arranged through a lawyer, piece of cake,,
