Dear readers,

Been coming to Thailand for over 30 years and often travel to other countries. Now I want to go to Hong Kong for a few days in January 2018. Can I be given information to stay there for how long and what you "definitely" have to see there?

Regards,

Rob

Take the ferry to Kowloon in the late afternoon, then take a cable/railway to Victoria peak. Wait until sunset and you'll have a truly stunning view of Hong Kong's neon skyline.

    Best ,

I know Hong Kong really well. Been there approx. 15 times. Awesome. A real mix of old and new. Go to: temple street, a swarm of stalls etc., the peak on hong Kong Island, the two boats where you can eat, also on hkIsland, the center of kowloon actually, Nathan Road. Also the crossings with the star Ferry from kowloon to hkisland. You can eat delicious food everywhere. You can also have tailor-made suits made there for very little money. Only English is dramatic there. Write down in Chinese where you want to go and show it to the taxi driver

    Rob,

Hong Kong is an expensive city to go to.
Normally for a non-luxurious hotel you pay at least 100 euros / night
The price for the food cannot be compared to Thailand, just assume Western prices.
Drinks are also on average 3 times more expensive.
Start is to go by bus to the highest point of the island where you have a fantastic view.
The city itself is a great shopper's paradise with expensive shops both on the mainland and on the island.
In the evening, take the light show on the mainland dike to the museum (departure of the ferries), this is really worth it.
Visit the harbor on the other side of the island and possibly the market there.
The daily night market at the end of Nathan road, left
Possibly take the hydrofoil to Macao and visit the gambling city, pleasant and beautiful.

Enjoy it but it's not cheap,
Good and simple and not expensive train connection airport to city and vice versa.

Been there myself once. Also took a return to Honk Kong from Bangkok, so that I did not have to arrange a separate visa for Thailand.
And instead of listing everything I've visited, I'll just include the link to my website here:

    Lots of fun.

    Dear Rob.

I have been to Hong Kong a number of times, what you should see there depends of course on your interest. But a visit to The Peak is great, in addition Stanley market is very nice and the big Buda can be combined well with Tai O – Fishing Village authentic fishing village. You also have plenty of opportunity for shopping on Kowlong and Hong Kong Island and a visit to Victoria Harbor is also very nice with the walk of fame with the statue of Bruce Lee.
You also have a number of beautiful marks where life is good. 10.000 buddahs is a nice tempe complex. By the way, Hong Kong is quite pricey … especially when it comes to hotels, etc., but I think it's a great city!.
    Have fun .

day 1 make a tour with the tour bus and get out here and there. the 2nd day to the other side of the island (also possible with the tour bus) and with the cable car up. If you are young enough there is another Disneyland, the 3rd day up and down to Macao. the 4th day visiting the mainland fun with the ferry. And if you still feel like it, there is probably time somewhere to visit the giant Buddha. And don't forget to buy a train ticket, the fastest way to get to HK. Orient yourself in advance where your hotel is located (which district) and get out on time. If necessary, ask the hotel for the correct exit point by email. If you are staying near Pattaya (you can meet me for map and other info, [email protected]) then fly from U-tapao. Have fun

Hello, There is a lot to do in Hong Kong 1000 Buddhas Stanley market and many other markets.
From the peak there you can take a tram to the night markets and the longest escalator in the world.
Hong Kong is divided into neighborhoods, antique streets, food, etc. Surf the internet and Disney is not big but worth it if you are 65 you can use a senior card and public transport is perfect buy a card load it up and you can use it for a lot things also use museums and Mac Donalds the last evening you hand it in and get the remainder back have fun I love Hong Kong.

    Well,

I have also been there, definitely worth it, you can buy a 3-day public transport card.
But beware, Hong Kong is a lot colder than Bangkok, so bring long pants and a jacket.

Hong Kong is built on a slope and quite high, you have horizontal streets that are fairly flat and vertical streets that run very steeply. It happens that the front door of a flat is on the ground floor and the back door on the fourth floor, where a horizontal road also runs.

What did they make in Hong Kong? and that is really great, its 10 escalators (or maybe more) in a row, from horizontal street to horizontal street, you should definitely try it out and then you can zigzag down again, then you will come across all sorts of things. Hong Kong is also a clean city similar to Singapore.

I had taken a hotel near a metro station and immediately bought that public transport card at the airport. So you don't necessarily have to have a hotel in the center, which are very expensive.

    Have fun, greetings Gerrit
