Reader Question: Is there a Thai online marketplace?
Dear readers,
Who of the readers knows a website here in Thailand where I can sell superfluous and superfluous stuff online? A kind of www.marktplaats.nl, as we know it in the Netherlands, where people ask for or offer all kinds of stuff for sale.
I've already looked at Bahtsold.com, but it doesn't work. Fine for real estate, motor vehicles and pets, but not for the small stuff I want to put up for sale, like 2 DVD players (LG and Philips), a Samsung Grand Duos Smartphone, a JVC HD Camcorder, and some small furniture. Everything so
Who will help me on my way in the Thai online world?
With thanks and regards,
Herman
There are a few:
http://marketplacethailand.com/,
http://www.buy-sell-th.com/,
http://www.thailandads.com/,
http://www.expat-blog.com/en/classifieds/asia/thailand/buy-and-sell.html, http://www.alibaba.com/countrysearch/TH/buy-sale-online.html,
http://www.thephuketnews.com/classifieds-buy-sell.php
http://classifieds.thaivisa.com/
http://classifieds.bangkokpost.com/
You could also look in the German magazine “Der Farang” http://der-farang.com/de/classified or other magazines that you can find in most bookstores - in the larger cities then..
Good luck with your sale!
Really fantastic info Jack.
With a little patience I will most certainly find what I need.
Sincerely kind thanks.
Didit.
Ahoi Sjaak, that's quite a list! Which one do you recommend as number 1? My thanks, Ad.
It's not easy to make a choice. You will have to try it yourself. Every website has its strengths and weaknesses and has an emphasis on certain articles. I first came to Thaivisa.com, because it is part of an English blog about Thailand. Marketplace Thailand makes a good impression on me.
Hi Herman.
I don't know where you live but here in hua hin there is the secondhand shop[also has a Facebook ]
tel number 08-36928050
They buy a lot of stuff like that.
Greetings Peter.
Would you like to read the reader's question carefully before responding? Several comments have been thrown in the trash that came with 'BahtSold'. The text clearly states that the questioner knows this website but it does not comply.

Just new and quickly frequented.
I have heard from Thai friends that such a site exists.
The name is OLX.com
They regularly place all kinds of (rather small) second-hand shops on it, even works of art and antiques.
I also heard that they occasionally buy stuff there.
You have to register first, but that's normal.
You do have to take into account that the site is written in Thai, but you can of course also advertise on it in another language.
To register you will need the help of a Thai or if you are Thai proficient.
Success with it.
Just learned that there is another website that is well known, but mainly in Bangkok and the surrounding area.
Name is pantipmarket.com
http://www.pantipmarket.com
I have had good experiences with this site. Good luck!
just very ordinary EBAY THAILAND
Of course Ebay Thailand! However, I have not looked into that, because I have been selling stuff on Ebay in Germany for years. I had already built up a good reputation. Unfortunately for me, Ebay started to raise security standards and required users to bring proof of their residence in Germany and their authenticity. I couldn't do this anymore, because I had been living in the Netherlands for years and at the beginning hardly anything was asked at the registration. Countless e-mails to Ebay had not helped.
But thanks for the reminder anyway. I'll take a look at that too. The advantage is that you can also sell abroad. If you set everything up properly and make the costs clear to potential buyers, you may be able to sell your stuff in neighboring Asian countries, not just Thailand. Your market is therefore a lot bigger and maybe there is someone in Singapore who was looking for exactly what you want to sell.
However, Ebay is not free: you cannot (except for a few promotional days) place free advertisements – which you can do at most of the sites I mentioned) and you also pay when you sell your stuff… that makes everything a bit more expensive on ebay ..
I've tried Ebay Thailand and I can't sign up there. There is a whole story about how you can do everything, but I can't get any further. You can register with Ebay US, UK, and other countries. I've tried it, but then I don't get good price information about the shipping costs of my items.
Boonma, if you can describe here how to register with Ebay Thailand, you might make some readers happy.
Thanks in advance!
