Dear readers,
Who knows what steps need to be taken to give a 3-year-old child Belgian nationality?
I have been together with my girlfriend for 11 years and she agrees that the child will become Belgian (dual nationality). The child bears my last name on the birth certificate. My residential address is in Belgium. My girlfriend has never been to Belgium.

The website of the Belgian embassy contains all the information you need, recognition of a child. I myself have 2 children with B and T nationality and have done the recognition at the embassy in Bangkok. Whose surname they have is of no importance. Another tip, have a Belgian passport made immediately at the embassy, then the child can simply travel to B. Moreover, if your girlfriend also wants to go to B, this is a solid lever to get a visa for her.
Very simple but takes a little money and some time.
Have your birth certificate translated into Dutch (official translation) somewhere just before Soi 4 – Sukhumvit BKK, there is a translation agency that is recognized by the embassy. (I think it is better to get off the BTS in Ploen Chit and then go back to Soi 4. Costs about 3 days and the price can be agreed with the boss. She leaves it at the Ministry of the Interior in BKK Then go to the embassy to have the necessary Belgian documents drawn up and to request explicit recognition from you. Take those documents to your town hall in Belgium with 2 passport photos and some money and a few weeks later he is a Belgian with Thai second nationality.
