Home » Reader question » Thailand question: Have a check-up done for a reasonable rate?
Dear readers,
I live in Chiang Mai and I would like to do a total check up. Gastroscopy, endoscopy, sugar, lung (function), MRI scan, etc. etc.
I feel totally, but totally exhausted, bowel movements are not right, my appetite is not what it should be, I prefer to sleep all day.
I have now been to Ram Hospital and Bangkok Hospital. The prices were (for me) very disappointing.
Are there any other clinics/possibilities in Chiang Mai to have a full check-up done at a reasonable rate? Now I also know that 30.000 baht is change for one person, but for another a reasonable amount of money, so we don't have to talk about that.
Thanks in advance for your positive contributions!
Regards,
chot
Editors: Do you have a question for the readers of Thailandblog? Use it contact form..
a few years back in surathani .- taksin hospital – had a full checkup done. Was then 4000 bht . at 8 o'clock in the morning and shortly outside in the afternoon with a booklet containing all the results
Maybe don't do a check-up but visit the doctor in a government hospital, the same doctors who also work in private hospitals. For 100 to 200 baht you get results from blood tests, stool samples and more. Years of experience and know how this works in Thailand, preferably go to a government university hospital, they usually also have a prevention and research department where you can also have a lot checked for a few thousand baht in a package offer like Marc indicates.
Marc, Chot also talks about gastroscopy, colonoscopy, MRI scans, extensive lung examination.
In addition, you also have to wait for the result of CBC.
I don't believe this can be achieved in 1 day.
I would advise Chot to go to a large State Hospital in Chang Mai.
It is not very comfortable, but much cheaper than a private hospital.
I don't live in Chiang Mai area so I only know Ram (Private) Hospital.
Good luck,
Chander
Please contact CM Mediclinic. They offer various total health checkups and are substantially cheaper than most hospitals. Whatever they work with.
155 28 หมู่ที่ 2 Jed Yod-Yu Yen Soi 10, Chang Phueak, Mueang Chiang Mai District, Chiang Mai 50300, Thailand
Please keep in mind that for all the examinations you mention (gastro – endo-MRI scan etc….) 30.000 ฿
is an incredibly low amount. Not every hospital has an MRI, by the way.
mc cormick hospital about 4500 baht, sripat about 7000 bath
etc.etc. you write, sounds rather like a wet finger.
MRI is never included in a check-up and it costs a lot of money here in Korat.
Just had another one in a hospital, 14000 for the MRI and 2000 for the staff including from the room to and back.
You can take the photos home that you paid for. [wink]
A 'normal' check-up, which I do once every one to two years, costs here in Korat for a man about 9000 Baht normal rate, but every month they have the offer, which means that you can get it for about half on days when the average Thai is not saying right now that the money has run out.
So I always do that as a Dutchman..
See that the Lanna hospital had a similar offer last year Executive man 4160 Baht according to the text it would be for me.
https://www.lanna-hospital.com/lannahospital/htmleng/health%20chk3.html
Dr. Morgan, HCMC complete check up BHT 7000,- Speaks very good English. Highly recommended.
Try the Maharaj/Sripat complex on Suthep Road. Never have a full investigation done, but dozens of partial investigations. Always had good experiences at reasonable prices. It is a cluster of a state, private and university hospital, so there is a solution for every budget. Take a Thai with you and ask for advice which department is best for you.
Keeping it free all day at a state hospital, but the costs are not too bad and for something like 5000 baht you would get everything checked. Depending on what you want, it can be a bit more expensive, good luck. Jan.
Mc Cormick Hospital is good and the prices are considerably lower there… and you can sometimes negotiate a lower price.
Check if you don't eat too much food (especially fruit) that has been sprayed with pesticides.
I ate a lot of grapes and felt very rickety. Stopped that, after a few days I felt good again.
Anyway, n=1 and maybe coincidence.
I heard from someone else who bought chicken at the market, which was full of formalin. He got tired of that. Then he always soaked the chicken in water for an hour to get the formalin out. That helped.
Kees is going to drive the author 'crazy' again with things that many of us already know that 'healthy' food is often of dubious quality in Thailand [and where not anymore]
Are we not even talking about the preparation that often looks nice, but much more than that.
Something 6 À 7 sec, pull through the warm water or wok and ready, as an example
Chot could do a regular check-up and then a lot is often clear, such as in that link from Lanna hospital, for example.
Through the tests applied there, on the advice of step two it is possible whether you have something wrong and get the advice to go to a specialist in the closing talk or they declare you healthy or reasonably healthy and advise you to go to your home country for a while because of your homesickness, for example.
The last line is a joke on my part, of course, but step by step seems logical to me in research.
They are happy to make suggestions from the author, even if everyone already understands that it is nonsense.
What day you from the Maharaj or better known as the SunDok hospital on the Sutheproad in Chiangmai.
Is a gigantic hospital complex and is part of the faculty of medicine of the CMU university.
Gained very good experience myself for both examinations and surgery.
And the costs will certainly not be too bad for you.
Jan Beute.
Years ago I had a body check done at Rajavej hospital.
Please note that it was in “the promotion” on Saturday.
Th Bth 4500,- all in. However, no stool test. But we have that every 2 years in Ned.
Last week I had an MRI scan performed I lost 18500 BHT.
If I were you I would be the first to have an extensive blood and urine test carried out, that is where the most comes to light. They had tested me on 60 components. One of the most important results is that my kidney function is less. So now I have to drink 1,5 liters of water every day and have my blood/urine tested regularly.
