Is there a good app available (English/Apple iOS) for public transport in Bangkok? BTS/MRT route planner?

    Yes there is: simply open Google Maps, select the route and choose public transport. Then you get the desired bus, train, metro lines, etc. with a choice of arrival or departure time and more. What more could you want, app not even needed.

    Good tip but would like to skip the bus.
    So really a planner for: BTS/MRT

      Google maps searches for the fastest transport option. If you have to travel a bit further before or after using the MRT or BTS, Google is just right because it indicates what a better, faster connection is. The MRT or BTS sometimes seems useful unless you know that you first have to go up or down endless stairs plus often a bit of walking on corridors or access roads to this MRT or BTS. The advantage of the bus is that it has an extensive network, comes in many streets and neighborhoods and opens the doors in front of you on the sidewalk. If you want to know what the fastest transport option is, choose Google with less use of the MRT / BTS for the reasons mentioned.

    If you want to take the bus Viabus app is very good. Have used it a few times and it works fine. Gives you the route, which bus(es) to take. You can also see where the buses are located. Only you can sometimes get one without air conditioning with the designation air conditioning .. :)
