Dear readers,

I have been coming to Thailand for many years, this time we want to visit Koh Samet. I can no longer see the forest because of the many resorts. Who has been here and can give me a tip for a nice resort, preferably Hat Sai Kaew. Price around 50-60 euros per night.

Have already scoured Booking and Expedia but find it difficult to make a choice, hence this question.

Regards,

Mike

Samed Villa Resort, sometimes they have nice offers if you book well in advance outside the season, right on T Ao Phai beach and only 500 meters from Sai Kaew. Been there a few times myself.
Otherwise, but then you are a bit further south Ao Cho grand vieuw hide away ... have fun!

    Dear Mike,

I myself have lived on Koh Samet for a number of years and compared to other islands, the resorts are quite expensive.

Whether you will find a resort in the Hat Sai Kaew district for 50-60 euros per night, I don't know. But Agoda and Booking are the best websites for this.

The island is quite small and with a scooter you can get to the desired place fairly quickly. Maybe an idea to find a resort a little further from Hat Sai Kaew?

Saikaew Beach Resort is the winner for us. The nice little bungalows directly on the private bay are absolutely top. Good restaurant for breakfast lunch dinner and very friendly staff. All worth the few tens more per night!
Also the beach on the other side that borders Sai Kaew Beach is clean with chairs towels shower etc
Sometimes we split up our stay. A few nights in a guesthouse so that we can explore the island and possibly do some way excursions, and also 2 or 3 nights a bit more luxurious, where we can enjoy the resort and the facilities, except for a walk.
    Have fun!!
