Thailand question: Problems with vaccination registration
Dear readers,
Yesterday I received a message from an acquaintance to register for a Pfizer vaccine at the Phetchabun immigration. When I got there it was a bit more difficult, for me that is.
The reason I could not register is because I use blood thinners, is this a reason to refuse me or have others been affected by this? It may also be that the vaccines have run out.
Regards,
Driekes
Editors: Do you have a question for the readers of Thailandblog? Use it contact form..
On 16-08-2021 I went to my Neurologist at Changmai Ram Hospital to pick up medicines for my stroke.
She then asked me, since I am 79 years old, if I have already been vaccinated, for the Covid 19. and which vaccine I want, the Pfizer or the Moderena, I said the Pfizer.
She wrote me down and will call me as soon as it comes in.
Also on blood thinners, and she knows all my medical history.
Are they also doctors at the Emigration Service?
Hans van Mourik
Hans,
i have moderate experience with Chiangmai Ram. Called a few weeks ago (after previous registration) if I was still interested in vaccination. if so, I had to indicate this by email the next day and pay TBH 3.300. Vaccination would "come sometime in October / December".
Then I was told that vaccination 1 would be Sinovac and vaccination 2 would be AstraZeneca..
I then gave up and paid nothing. I would possibly like to pay, but then pay today and get the injection tomorrow. So not in a few months.
I am now participating in Chiangmai Wall project, where free (!!) Pfizer is set. The first shot has already arrived.
Driekes, I use rivaroxaban as a blood thinner and was advised not to take it 24 hours before the shot. By the way, taking that pill wouldn't do any harm, the doctor said; it would just mean putting pressure on the puncture site for a few more minutes to prevent a bruise.
There are 2 Changmai Ram Hospital here.
Where I'm being treated is near Central Plaza, on the way to Doi Suthep.
Since 2010
They only order the Pfizer or Moderena.
They do not order other vaccines.
I don't know the other one.

Can you give me this link, or where it is.
Chiang Mai Wall project
Then you can make many here in Changmai happy, including me.
Have not spoken to 1 who has had the Pfizer here, they are also waiting for it.
Hans van Mourik
In the Netherlands, the use of blood thinners is also a question for vaccination. Before vaccination, everyone must first complete a health declaration with 15 questions, including 3 questions about blood thinners and/or clotting problems. If you are using blood thinners, you can go to the vaccination appointment in the Netherlands, but you must talk to a doctor on the spot, who will decide on this and then monitor you if necessary. If you are being treated by the Thrombosis Service, you must first contact the Thrombosis Service. In the case of coagulation disorders, you must call the GGD's medical information line.
You see. The caution is apparently justified. But organized slightly differently everywhere.
I got two moderna in Belgium
Have diabetes take blood thinners sleeping pills and medicines for high blood pressure and others
All was no problem
Do not take blood thinners for a few days before
To hans van Mourik, I regularly read about you on this web blog regarding the vaccination problems.
You are a customer of the highly regarded and well-known private Ram hospital in Chiangmai.
I read in this posting that you are still waiting for a vaccine from Pfizer.
And now the story comes to all of you.
A while ago, thanks to this web blog, a link could be found where you could register for the Pfizer vaccines given to Thailand by the American government.
I sent the necessary information, etc., the same evening.
A day later my stepson, who is ICT by profession and now works online at my house, also because of the Covid crisis, comes with the message Dad I have registered you for the Pfizer vaccination.
I was surprised, after asking him he turned out to have used the same government website.
I said to him do you have a copy of my passport and visa, no he said but he did have a copy of my pink Thai ID and sent it.
I was amazed and curious about how this would turn out.
Last Thursday evening August 26th around ten o'clock my stepson came with the message, sorry little late but I had a phone call today, you have to report tomorrow Friday at 11.00 am at the lamphun goverments hospital emergency department, fourth floor for the first Pfizer jab.
And so it happened early in the morning Janneman on the motorcycle to the hospital that is very familiar to me.
Once there, there were more pale noses who had also had a call.
Unfortunately for me, I had a first shot from Sinovac at the Pasang government hospital a week and a half prior to this story.
You'd rather know something than nothing, or half an egg rather than an empty shell.
After consultation with the doctor there, unfortunately I could not get the Pfizer, it has to be at least 3 weeks in between, but after an appointment I will get the Pfizer on Friday September 17, and then at a later time I can get an extra Pfizer boost shot.
So you can see how things can be in our beautiful Thailand.
Jan Beute.
I would like to add something briefly, it was very well organized, friendly staff, including the doctor.
I should have reported on the second floor first, but a good English-speaking nurse said I'll do this for you, and gave me a seat with space in between next to another farang.
Later she came back with the papers. I had already made the necessary copies with my passport at home.
Another nice conversation followed, as I was the only pale nose without a Thai spouse or guidance.
I joked my spouse came home alone, I'm a big boy and used to it, and certainly not afraid of a pinch.
If I could find the hospital, I answered I know it like the back of my hand.
She saw from my helmet with the camera mounted on it that I was dragging along, are you perhaps on the motorcycle I said yes, do you also have a big bike I have it too.
But today on the Yamaha.
Then to the 2nd floor for confirmation for my second appointment next month and on my way home with a bottle of water obtained.
Cost of all this for all who were vaccinated that day zero comma zero.
And all this with Thanks and Tribute to the people and government of the United States of America.
Because you don't have to expect anything from the Dutch government and the European Union regarding this.
I had to say this in closing.
Jan Beute.
Hi Driekes,
You write that you could give up at immigration. Never known.
Do you also know where you would get the vaccination if you didn't have a problem?
I myself live in the south of Phetchabun.
Regards, Jan
Congratulations Jan, I envy you.
But do you grant it.
I also registered via the internet, which also has to include my passport.
Received message back, that the success is fully done.
Would get message back and should respond within 24 hours.
Not yet, checks it every day, also at Junck.
Also registered for Moderena, in the Lana Hospital, and the Ram.
What those Dutch people told me, that they got the Sinovac or the Astra at the Mc. Cromick hospital, were able to join the row without an appointment.
But I don't want that, it's my own fault, (choice)
Hans van Mourik ,,
Janbeute, congratulations in advance.
Let us know when you get the shot from Pfizer on September 17.
Hans van Mourik
I will do my report after the Pfizer jab on Friday the 17th of September and whether any side effects appear.
The first injection that I and my Thai spouse received now already two weeks ago at the Pasang hospital without an appointment as I am over 68 years old, and my spouse 58 years old had underlying medical reasons.
My stepson who went to the same hospital in the afternoon last week came back empty.
Jan Beute.
Just for correction so above the age of 60 years, I myself am 68 years old.
Jan Beute.
Supplementary to my response.van Janbeute
Have heard of Dutch people, here in Changmai, who received the first injection with Sinovac, the second with Astra, also in the Mc.Cromiek Hospital.
I have heard.
Hans van Mourik
I got a call from the Phetchabun immigration office that I could register for a vaccine there. Thank you very much because I had already received my first shot at the military base.

@ Jan si thep,
I could sign up and then they email me when I could come.
Unfortunately I can't handle smart phones so it didn't happen with me.
I also had to bring my girlfriend and she doesn't understand phones either, so the reason I used blood thinners wasn't my turn, for now.
It was also only last Friday that you could register and I also don't know if the vaccines might have run out and if new ones are coming.
The shot can be picked up at the location specified by them via email.

Cornelius, thanks for the tip.
This is useful to me.
Am on 01-09-2021 at 08.30 there, before they say it's finished.
Patiently waiting.
