Thailand question: Phuket Sandbox and flights to Phuket
Dear readers,
I have a question about flights to Phuket from the Netherlands. I have contacted the embassy several times but have not received a clear answer. Does anyone have experience with the Sandbox program and the flights to Phuket?
The embassy recommends that I fly with Qatar Airlines or Etihad, but also mentions that I cannot transfer in Qatar or in the United Arabes Emirates. I don't know which flights I can take because of this.
I also have a question about the COE, do you recommend that you arrange this yourself or have an organization do it?
Regards,
Britt

Coincidentally, I'm looking into it right now.
If I were you I would take a good look at this link.

COE is easy to do yourself, just follow the steps and take your time. If you go to Phuket, you can transfer abroad, but not transfer in Bangkok.
You are not allowed to transfer in Qatar or UAE? I suspect you misunderstood...
Doesn't seem quite right to me. My wife flew to Thailand 3 weeks ago with a transfer in Qatar. No problem.
i fly to singapore and from there to phuket.
can perfectly
only via Bangkok is not / is not allowed
You can simply change trains in Qatar. Friends of mine have done that too. Only you are not allowed to transfer IN BANGKOK. So you have to have a vkucht Amsterdam – Quatar – Phuket…
britt,
You can transfer in Doha and Abu Dhabi.
Use this website traveldoc.aero or the KLM website.
Edwin
Hi, we are flying October 1st to Phuket with Qatar Airlines, flying via Doha and accepted for the COA.
You can apply at the embassy yourself, as long as you have all the correct documents, then it will be arranged in no time and it will not cost you extra money to have it arranged.
Are you going to apply for asylum in Thailand Marcia? 😉
Then know that it is almost impossible to get asylum there.
I asked the same question some time ago and received a clear answer within half an hour.
it is ok for transit in Dubai or Paris.

Subject: Question flight to Phuket Sandbox Project
Dear Ms., Mr.,
At the end of October I would like to go to Thailand for a few weeks. First in the Phuket Sandbox Project and then onwards. The rules to follow are clear to me.
The only thing I can't find an answer to right away :
There is no direct flight from Brussels. So I have the choice to travel via a connecting flight (in Dubai) to Phuket or take a direct flight from Paris. Is this allowed?
Thanks for your reply.
Dear Brit,
I just got to the quarantine hotel, via flight from Etihad,
first Amsterdam > Abi Dhabi flight EY 78 just transfer, nothing to worry about, just check your luggage and yourself.
Then from Abi Dhabi to Phuket or Bangkok flight EY 430 (plane has a stopover at Phuket of 1 hour)
Lots and lots of control, both at Schiphol. The moon males and females welcome you directly to the plane. but especially in Abu Dhabi, the control was very strict, we left almost 2 hours later, because every passenger is checked to the last detail.
You just have to do the coe yourself, it is very easy and will save you another 50 euros
a third option is Turkish Airlines, slightly more expensive, but with the beautiful Airbus A 350 and a direct flight from Istanbul (about 9 hours)
Dear All !
Thank you very much for all your comments, this has helped me a lot. I think the embassy misunderstood me maybe they thought I might want to stay longer in these countries instead of a short transfer? In any case, thank you so much for all your quick and informative responses! 🙂
Also for the reactions regarding the CEO.
Maybe I'll see some of you soon in Phuket!
Dear All,
Thank you very much for all your messages! These have helped me a lot. I think the embassy misunderstood me. Perhaps they thought I wanted to stay in Qatar or the United Arabes Emirates for a longer period of time instead of just a short transfer and that is why they said this was not possible.
Thanks again for all your quick and informative responses! Also with the answers regarding the COE!
Maybe I will see some of you soon in Phuket 🙂
