Dear readers,

I wonder if there is already more clarity about corona conditions for holidays to Thailand after November 1.

  • I have been vaccinated 2 times this summer, if I come to Thailand next month will I need a 3rd vaccination maximum 2 weeks before I arrive?
  • When I arrive at the airport will I get that PCR test, or at my hotel?
  • Can I let my girlfriend book a hotel where I will arrive early the next day? That's how I did it before.

Thanks in advance for any answers

Regards,

Aart

    1. Revaccination is not necessary. Those 14 days before the trip are necessary because the vaccine is only fully effective after 14 days (Janssen even only after 30 days).
    2. You must do a PCR test in advance (in NL/BE), max 72 hours in advance. This is checked at the airport. The PCR tests in Thailand take place at your hotel (or a designated location)
    3. As long as the hotel is a SHA+ hotel and is reserved in your name, that doesn't seem to be a problem.

    Dear Aart,

Nothing is known yet about the condition of November 1, these are only in force, if they have been in the newspaper, then they have also been approved by the King.

The conditions for October 1 were only published in the Gazette the day before, count on the conditions for November 1 also not being published until the day before.

And in Thailand, everything can change per hour.

That's right Laksi. In addition, in September it was buzzing with rumors from various Thai authorities. These were “diverse” to say the least.

That doesn't make it any easier to plan a trip to Thailand. Even the uncertainty and ambiguity created by the Thai authorities themselves makes planning impossible.

The objectives stated by the Prime Minister and by TAT to attract travelers again remain so far an illusion.

Why continue to impose all kinds of restrictive conditions on fully vaccinated travelers who also test negative (before and during entry)?
Is that acting in the national interest?

Many people seem to forget that someone who has been vaccinated can still contract the Corona virus and even pass it on to others. So that's why the tests. Being vaccinated is no guarantee that you will not be a carrier of the virus.

          But Lung Addie,

It is true that a vaccinated person can contract or even pass on Corona, but that percentage is very low.

I had 2 pieces of Pfizer vaccines in the Netherlands and a PCR test before departure and a rapid test in Abu Dhabi and 3 PCR tests in quarentenne. Total 5 tests. I was treated like I was leprous, Everyone in lunar suits and when I approached they ran away fast. At the end of the 14 days, I ask the very lovely girl who guides me, have you had vaccines, NO, have you had PCR tests NO. What do you do with this now.

We are now in Phuket since October 1st. First PCR is at the airport result takes 5 to 12 hours. 2nd test is on day 7. If you fly back to the Netherlands, a PCR test is also required.
