Dear readers,

Going to Thailand on January 8 and want to go to Myanmar for 2 days after 10 weeks. I am now looking on Google to arrange a visa from Thailand, but that seems to be quite difficult.

Also from the Netherlands, because then you will be asked for a flight number. Does anyone have any tips or advice?

Thanks in advance.

With kind regards,

Wim

Dear Wim, I don't know where you are looking on Google, but I think you are doing something wrong 100% sure.
type in myanmar visa and off you go. It is even very easy to obtain a visa. Here's a nice link where you can find all your info and it's also completely up to date!

It is very easy to arrange in Bangkok at the embassy of Myanmar.
Go in the morning, take passport photos with you. Pick up in the afternoon.
You can still choose whether you want a day later or 2 days later. Makes a difference in price.
I've done this several times and it's no problem. Easy to get to with the Bts.

Did it this summer. You can also take the 'bus boat' to Tha Sathon and then walk or 2 stops (I thought) with BTS. If you pick up your visa after 2 days, the price will be reduced. Be sure to go early, because the queue can be very long and the office is only open in the morning to apply for a visa.

confirmation of what henk j writes. AND don't let someone else arrange your visas and never be fooled into thinking that they are closed the other day, because that will cost you money. go in person and more than a few days before the jet leaves!

      jerom,
I had my Thai friend apply for our visas, filled in the paperwork myself, and picked it up the same day without any problems

You can also apply for an E-visa via the internet.
    Just googled and found it.

If you don't have to leave the house, you will receive the “letter of approval” by email within 5 working days.

Report to immigration with this and get stamp there. Costs $50 usd if I remember correctly.
Pay by credit card on the site.

    Success!

It does indeed cost 50 USD. Note: can only be used in 3 places. See http://evisa.moip.gov.mm/NewApplication.aspx#

if you find it all too difficult, why not a visa on arrival?
Or has this been abolished recently?

    • Gerard says up

Visa on arrival unfortunately not (yet) possible for Dutch citizens.

I flew to Myanmar last year. I arranged my visa in a few days in a travel agency on Khaosan road in Bangkok. Went perfectly without any problems.
