Dear readers,

A friend's son wants to do an internship in Bangkok and is looking for contacts in Analytical Chemistry. Now he can hardly find any information about it. It is a university course with an internship of 6 months.

Does anyone know info, addresses, names, email addresses in Bangkok?

Yours faithfully,

Rob

Dear Rob, I don't have addresses for you, but the best thing to do is to email companies where analytical chemistry is applied and submit a request for an internship.
My son was also looking for an internship, preferably in Thailand, because he is familiar with it and that is how he started. He is on a TH in Belgium, so different study, but he does speak Thai colloquially.
Unfortunately, this failed because not enough English was spoken in companies.
Also remember that all internship assignments and reports must be worked out in English and must also be assessed at the Thai company. Furthermore, communication must all be in good English. (also from Thailand) My son is currently in Bilbao with a Dutch company and Dutch management, this is so easy in hindsight. Perhaps your student can also ask for contacts via Dutch companies.
I hope he succeeds, it will be a wonderful experience. Good luck !!

I would first determine for myself which industry is preferred. Then I would approach the Dutch-Thai Chamber of Commerce in Bangkok (NTCC). He has an office inside the embassy. The NTCC is a member association of mainly Dutch companies in Thailand and works closely with the economic and agricultural departments of the embassy.
    I also think it's linguistically nice(er)
The contact details of the NTCC are as follows:

    Netherlands-Thai Chamber of Commerce
    15 Soi Tonson, Ploenchit Road
    Lumpini, Pathumwan
    Bangkok 10330, Thailand
    tel: +66 (0) 2309 5250 (no fax number, please use e-mail)
    Email: [email protected]
    Website: http://www.ntccthailand.org

    Success!
