Dear readers,

From when exactly do primary school holidays in Thailand start in March/April 2017?

With many thanks.

Normally in April and October of a year

The main holiday in Thailand is from the middle (or end?) of March to the middle of May. This year the schools reopened on May 16.

I also heard that the schools are closed for 1 or 2 weeks (I don't remember exactly) in October.

    This can differ per school.
Here the holiday started this year at the beginning of March and ended sometime at the end of April.
The holiday in October is usually in October.

The holiday of the school in the village is not always the same as that of the school in the city.

It is different at Christian schools than at Buddhist schools, because Christian schools have holidays around Christmas and Buddhist schools do not.

So freedom, happiness in a holiday country.

Varies quite a bit, but about mid-March to mid-May, look at certain schools differently

Varies by school. You have the state schools, where the color of the pants is brown. And there the March holiday starts about March 12 to 14.
And the schools you pay more for (often Christian schools, not international ones). And there the holidays often start on March 6. And they usually start again around May 16th. In October both schools have holidays from approximately October 7 to October 28. The international schools have the same holidays as in Europe.

    Thanks for the answers.
    It's all about.
Can't tell anyone the exact dates of the PUBLIC Elementary Schools.
I can't find it on the internet. Not even at the school in question.

No that is not possible. Because you only hear the correct date 2 to 3 days before the holiday. And often you have to find out later when they start again.

My sister-in-law and brother-in-law are both teachers in a different school.

They both have different holidays and so do their children!

It's hard to put an end to that! Even the children ; who go to the same school are home on different days!

But, during the 'big holiday' in April, they are all home together for a few weeks!

But yes, in the Netherlands you also have staggered school holidays.

All students have the whole month of April off.
In addition, primary school students also have the first 2 weeks in May off.
Primary education is also free during the last 2 weeks of March.
With high school students this can differ quite a bit, because of tests.

Schools are also closed for about 2 weeks in October.
