On Friday December 12, 2014 I take the night train from Surat Thani 23:54 to Hua Hin 06:29.
What is the best way to get from Phuket-Patong to Phun Phin (14 km west of Surat Thani)?

Why make an exhausting night trip? (if you find it exciting)
Easy and much faster, go to the airport and buy a plane ticket from Nok Air, they fly just as frequently as the buses with us.
I don't think there is a plane flying from Pukhet to Huahin.
Then you should first fly to Bangkok. Costs about 1300-1500 bath = from 32,50 euros
Flying time is about 1,5 hours.
From Bangkok to Huahin by taxi is about 3 hours is 1800 – 2200 bath.
By minibus to Huahin is about 200 baht, but only have 4 departures per day.
About the same travel time as a taxi.
You can also take the train, but then you first have to go to the train station and from there to Huahin. Takes about 5,5 hours and only departs a few times a day.
So the fastest is plane and taxi about 5 hours travel for 3300 baht or minibus total 1500 baht if the departure time of the minibus is reasonably in line with the arrival of the plane.
You can also easily take the bus from Phuket to Surathani train station (minibus).
Any tour operator in Phuket can help you with that. Doesn't cost that much. You are then quite a long way by bus and train to Huahin. count on 12 hours.

It will be bus/minibus from Phuket to Surathani train station.
I already have a reservation for the night train from Surat Thani 23:54 to Hua Hin 06:29 first class, cost €72.00
