Reader question: Can I go to the Austrian consulate in Pattaya for income statements?
Dear readers,
Some time ago I read something about the issuing of income statements by the Austrian Consulate in Pattaya. If so, then a trip to BKK is not necessary.
If this is correct, what kind of documents does this consulate require? I myself only receive a notification from my pension provider (not in the Netherlands) if the amount changes. Is this enough?
Yours faithfully,
Henri
Me and many Dutch people in Pattaya have been doing this for years and you can wait for it, the secretary will handle this for you and Herr Höfer the consul will stamp and sign the statement, costs around 1800 Baht at the moment.
Bring copies of your income, for example AOW or pension(s) and your passport. The secretary makes a quick calculation and fills in your name, passport number and monthly income on the statement, in Thb of course.
For a subsequent visit the following year, you will only need your passport and a copy of the previous income statement.
Great news..can the secretary read Dutch ?? My pension statements are all in Dutch…or does she only look at numbers? Are the statements in themselves sufficient or do you also have to prove that you actually get it transferred to a bank account in your name?
Ps… a friend of mine was there this week for a certificate de vita for a Dutch pension company.
This was considered an official statement and therefore it was free !!
If I understand correctly, a "life certificate" for the pension fund is free?
But an income statement costs 1800 baht.
Fieke
That's my experience…they didn't charge me for a life certificate
Given my questions, I cannot confirm anything about the income statement 1800 Bahts
Today I had contact with the Dutch embassy.
The income statement there costs 1240 .-Thb .
It is sometimes a difference due to exchange rate,
The above information is not entirely correct.
Some time ago I included information regarding the income statement in the document 'All about Thai visas (etc.)' that is available on the website of the Dutch Association in Pattaya ( http://www.nvtpattaya.org ).
There are 2 methods for this:
1. First method: Via the Dutch embassy in Bangkok, costs 30 Euro; see link: http://thailand.nlambassade.org/producten-en-diensten/consular-services/consulaire-verklaringen The embassy reports: Income statement for Thai Immigration (can be requested in writing). The Thai Immigration authorities require a so-called 'Income Statement' from foreigners who want to apply for a (year) visa for Thailand. To be submitted: completed application form (downloadable from the embassy website) and copy of your passport. So you do not need to send income details, you fill them in yourself. Read the exact application procedure. Please note that you must pay for this statement in advance (see website) and provide a return envelope with sufficient stamps. Takes 10 working days.
2. Second method: At the Consul General of Austria in Pattaya, Mr Rudolf Hofer, 504/26 Moo 10, diagonally opposite the main entrance of Yensabai Condo (on the corner; 'Pattaya-Rent-a-Room'), cost 1760 Baht . Opening hours: Monday-Friday from 11:00 am to 17:00 pm. The Consul General will make a summary of your income statement (must be documented) in English. Ready immediately.
Mr. Hofer provides this service for Pattaya-resident foreigners from multiple countries. He informed me that the income statement for Immigration may not be older than 6 months. Reuse during a subsequent (annual) visa extension is therefore not possible according to this rule. Your net annual income can also change, so apply again every year.
I also arrange that statement through the Austrian consulate and that works excellently.
I have been assured by the secretary that this service is also available at the Austrian Embassy in Bangkok and the Austrian Consulates in Chiang Mai and Phuket.
Since the distance from my hometown to Pattaya is 667 km. i do it differently. I download the income statement, print it out and fill it in. Enclose money and a copy of the passport. Also a return envelope to your own address and send everything to the embassy and within a few working days you will have it stamped and signed for return.
Now dear Dirk, I thought I would do the same as you did, and then just wait wait and wait again, called the embassy where my income statement was.
And told me that it had been sent fourteen days ago, I received a copy by email, but this was not accepted at immigration Korat,
So we traveled to Bangkok with my wife and made it a fun three days.
But it was an expensive affair, cooperation with immigration was excellent. didn't get an extension year visa, but a temporary one for a month, and then back again to extend my year visa, but also cost an extra 1900 bth
The return envelope also contained the change , so ?
Yes Hank that sucks. Perhaps worth mentioning; the return envelope Is provided with postage at the post office and a sticker that it goes by EMS and this always goes well.
Should the address of the place of residence be written in Thai on the return envelope?
I live even further from Pattaya than Dirk, but I do not put the money in the envelope if he does. I transfer it to the NL bank account of the embassy, print out the payment and put it in the envelope. A few days later everything is fine, annual statements are really no longer necessary. Incidentally, I am now going to the 8 ton 'in the bank' scheme.
I also just switched to the 800.000 THB scheme. A day in advance to the bank for the letter from the bank confirming the amount on my bank book.
At the immigration (in Korat) the letter was not considered good enough (it was good if I were married). So head over heels to the nearest bank branch for another letter. The official was kind enough to indicate on the letter what the correct letter should look like.
The bank reported that three people had come for a new letter the previous day.
I therefore think it is useful to inform the bank properly whether they are preparing the right letter for you.
Thank you very much for the useful info.
Hello.
Yes that's right. Just bring the same evidence
as for affidavit. 3 last monthly payments of your pension
plus if necessary amount added to your Thai account up to 800.000 bath total.
Ask for a bank certificate and bring it with you. 2 photos.
the secretary of the consul is very efficient
Lady. In fifteen minutes you are outside with the necessary
document for immigration. I think it costs around 1000 baht.
be aware don't go to immigration too early otherwise they will send
you back. Go within the month of expiry of old visas.
best regards.emile
If your paper work is done, yes, just Austrian consul, he is usually also present after 11.00:XNUMX am and no problem with the papers provided by him when applying for your annual visa.
For several years now I have been arranging this in writing via the Dutch embassy. And submitted that stamped proof to the Thai immigration service without any problems for years. Always get my annual visa on that.
should it be translated into english?
On the advice of a German friend.
And since I live close to Chiangmai .
For some things, to give just one example, the empathetic statement (attestation de vita, duration word).
I go to the German consulate near where I live .
And really no more to Bangkok , we are all Europeans and members of the EU .
So take advantage.
Jan Beute.
Jan Beute, do I understand correctly that the German consulate is in Chiang Mai? And what are the costs for a certificate de vita and income statement at the German consulate? DJ for the tip.
