Reader question: Who has experience with the free Covid insurance from the airline Emirates?
Dear readers,
A few days ago there was a question about mandatory Covid insurance, which would not be available for the elderly. When I searched further, I discovered that the Emirates airline offers free Covid insurance when booking a flight ticket. Just in name for $500.000 and no age restriction. That for the entire period of stay also In and out patient, tests etc.
Do readers have experience with this? Will this be accepted by the Thai embassy?
Regards,
Jan
Editors: Do you have a question for the readers of Thailandblog? Use it contact form..
Contact AA Insurance. An insurance broker who provides good service! I just got a quote from them from an insurance company, accepted by the Thai authorities and yellowish for age up to 80.
Good luck,
Jan
I also took out insurance through AA insurance, but that is not the question.
Experiences with the insurance, which is obtained when booking with Emirates, is requested.
Often fly with them so I'm also curious about it.
Tew, you are right,
Ben 82 has nowhere to go,
see: https://www.enirates.com/nl/english/before-you-fly/multi-risk-trafel-insurance/
this one is ageless so also for 80 years and older, just want to know is this okay for getting a COE,
the thai insurance union is a website where thai insurance companies are listed that offer insurance in accordance with the requirements. You can get info from by clicking.
https://www.tipinsure.com/CovidRegional/product_detail
But it's just easier to ask an insurance agent working in Thailand. Mr prakan, that's the name of the company is one of them.
I myself obtained it from my insurance agent. , are Dutch but based in Thailand. AA insurance, is in Pattaya, Hua Hin, Phuket and Bangkok. So speak Dutch. Useful.
So is not ageless 80 or older, too bad
…… Covid insurance would not be available for the elderly. Where does this nonsense come from?
There are several insurance companies, both Dutch and Thai, that offer such insurance. Also check the website of the Thai embassy in The Hague. There are references to Thai insurance companies that offer such necessary insurance. I have used it myself and I am 70 years old.
Dear people, isn't here the question about experience with corvid insurance from emirates? Where is the answer to that question posed above? The other insurance policies are of less importance to the questioner.
I may be wrong, but I thought I read somewhere that Emirates covid insurance only covers the flight(s).
Dirk,
No, normally you buy a return, there is cover during the entire period, with a single trip there is 48 hours cover on arrival
It could be.
I read “something” on “””Facebook”””
One person also complained about the policy not being delivered on time and therefore too late for his COE application.
The policy would be e-mailed shortly before the flight.
I don't know what is true, but of course they are things you should pay attention to.
Dirk,
can you make “something” a little more tangible (source)? Not that I don't believe it, but I'm still wary of fake news.
If correct, you were right to report this.
You can always download the policy, you are probably talking about the contract?
Facebook, falang stranded abroad.
There is a search function on that website.
It's not about being right, I'm stating what I read there at the beginning of this year.
More information via this pdf link : https://c.ekstatic.net/ecl/documents/before-you-fly/multi-risk-travel-insurance-faqs.pdf
See point 5 for a return ticket and point 6 for a one-way ticket.
Whether the Thai embassy will accept this? In the policy for Dutch citizens ( https://c.ekstatic.net/ecl/documents/before-you-fly/multi-risk-travel-insurance-policy-netherlands.pdf?h=o1BX9ulA-TnLT5AMwNThUg ) has worldwide coverage and a coverage of €410.000. So yes, but I cannot guarantee this.
The Belgians have the same policy, but the pdf link is different (
https://c.ekstatic.net/ecl/documents/before-you-fly/multi-risk-travel-insurance-policy-belgium.pdf?h=69r3gS-FC6spHbf9F8GM7A )
