Reader question: Transport from Belgium to Thailand?

Dear readers,

I would like to ask something, we have a house in Udon Thani and would like to go there at the end of this year. I have a miner's pension, not bad at all. What should I do to come to Thailand with my Thai wife?

We are now looking for transport to bring our goods by boat. Does anyone know a good freight forwarder to let this go through in good and not too expensive? Can this continue into the end of the year, or should we wait even longer?

Regards,

Pierre

    Dear Pierre,
this is a must: Windmill Forwarding.
Very reliable and perfect handling. Price depends on volume, weight, packing yourself or not….

IDD WINDMILL FORWARDING is highly recommended! I am currently also moving with this company and am very satisfied

There are quite a few freight forwarders in both the Antwerp and Zeebrugge ports.
You can also search from the other side: in Klong Thoey. Handy if they have experience with the household goods of farangs who are going to live in TH, because THAT is where the biggest problem lies. (customs officers, who make grateful use of ignorance)

we have arranged the move to our great satisfaction.

Three years ago I also had my move done with Windmill, and I am very satisfied with the way things turned out. Just pack the boxes with books and trinkets yourself, and let them do the bulky items for you.
Once in Pattaya, they delivered everything to my house, exactly according to my instructions. That means putting all the boxes somewhere and unpacking the big stuff and taking the packing carton with you. Excellent service and very reasonable price. Recommended.
In any case, request a quote there. It is worth it.

    @Pierre,
we moved from NL to Thailand at the end of 2019.
Requested various quotes, Windmill continued to insist that I had to transport our belongings in a (possibly shared) 40-foot container.
However, the company Transpack in Rotterdam provided us with a 20 foot container on both sides (NL and Thai). In the Netherlands I packed most of the items myself, except for the large items such as washing machine and cupboards. In Thailand everything was neatly unpacked and put in the right place.
    Cost less than 3000 euros.

In November 2016, 25 cubic meters of Dutch household goods were transported to Korat by WINDMILL -FORWARDING from door to door, everything was outsourced, packing and unpacking, the date and agreements were 100% fulfilled, they arranged everything, customs in Thailand, transport and so on. for a price of €6022 including insurance

    Good luck
