Dear readers,

I am thinking about wintering in Thailand in December to February (2021/22). After having spent the winter on Canary Islands/Sri Lanka/Vietnam as a gay man.

Who can tell me more about the possibilities? Which destinations and also in terms of accommodation (apartment).

Hear from you…

Regards,

Albert

    Hello Albert,
Thailand is a very nice destination to spend the winter, but recommending something is impossible
I like living near Pattaya but I have already considered moving to Koh Chang.
It's kind of hard to recommend anything because of that, but I'd say stay close to tourist regions just to have access to many of the facilities they offer, shopping, recreation, etc.
There are countless hotels and resorts that offer excellent accommodation for a period as you describe them, quiet, central, etc., the internet is full of them.
If you have chosen a region, you may be able to request information about hotels and condos here, which will make it easier.
Pattaya, Koh Chang and Hua Hin are the top places for me personally, just google them and look around what you think you like.

Best of luck with the search

VN will most closely resemble TH - seems rather logical to me.
Apart from being gay, you don't write clearly what you actually expect (although, Egypt…)
TH used to be called gay paradise, which is a bit exaggerated, but is largely correct.
There are 2 english language forums with mountains of info, the same vague is asked over and over again:
    sawatdeegaynetwork – forums
gayguides.com – forums, then search which ones
The general rules - entry option, visa required, etc - do not differ from mainstream tourists, check this forum or tripadvisor. And wait until the corona travel rules are relaxed

I don't really understand the addition of being gay.

If you mean whether Thailand accepts this and where, you can go anywhere in Thailand.

Well gay paradise is jomtien. Here is a gay bar complex, a dongtan gay beach. And an easy connection to Pattaya. You ask for an apartment. I have 2 available in view talay 5 with direct access to the beach and around the corner the gay bar complex.photos available via [email protected].
    Welcome tz.

Good day, your orientation has no influence in Thailand. Covid-19 does. There is little to say where things will be back to normal by then. For now, no bar or Gogo is open for you.

    Jomtien beach

Dear Albert, without adding to your question about any interests, there is actually no good information to give.
Do you like peace and quiet, are you interested in the culture of the country, or do you choose Thailand because you heard that Thailand is such a gay friendly and cheap country?
The latter because in your above question you almost specifically point out that you are gay yourself.
If, apart from all other interests, you are also interested in gay contacts, then there are of course many options to be found here.
Very often, of course, they are possibilities where the counterparty will see the financial compensation, and the search for social security, as the main reasons.

      Goodbye namesake,

Your last addition (social security) still applies to all parties. Being gay is separate from this.

Your other questions are more relevant, one likes quietness, the other wants a vibrant nightlife. In Thailand you will get your money's worth in all areas. Perhaps Albert should clarify a bit more what his real preferences are.
