Home » Reader question » Reader Question: Going to Koh Lipe at the end of November
Dear readers,
We would like to go to Koh Lipe at the end of November. How do we best approach this? Would it perhaps be better to land in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, stay there for a few days and then take the boat to Koh Lipe and then from Koh Lipe on to Phuket or possibly another island?
Who has tips?
Thank you in advance.
Greetings
Gina
The fastest is to fly to Hat Yai and catch the bus to Pak Bara at the bus station, where the ferry to Lipe awaits.
Koh Lipe beautiful location, I have been there myself.
We then landed at Trang airport with Air Asia. An hour's drive by taxi to Pak-Bara. There are the speedboats to Koh Lipe from Bundhaya. There are several sites, Google it.
fly to Hat Yai then to Satun and by speedboat to Koh Lipe.
very beautiful island.
spend a night at Sea Side Home Resort from there it is a short distance to the pier where the boat departs

you can call my name
If you go via Malaysia, fly from Kuala Lumpur to Langkawi. This island is worth staying for a few days. Be sure to take a day for a trip to the Skycab, skybridge, 3D museum (preferably bring a tripod for your camera), and Seven Wells Waterfall. All located a short distance from each other. Google in advance to know what you will experience.
You can go to Koh Lipe by ferry. 1h30 sailing. Make sure you can prove that you will leave Thailand on time, otherwise you will not get in!
I'm also in Thailand during that period, so I'm immediately wondering how to get there.
I found this link for ferry and speedboat timetables to the island and from where.

Satun is the shortest distance to the island.
Assume that this only concerns passenger transport. So my question then is does anyone know parking in Satun?
Maybe I'll do the south. Haven't decided anything yet.
Hank,
you could ask to park your car here.

Hi Gina, Koh Lipe is a top destination. I've been there many times myself and will be going again in October. I agree with the posters above although the fastest connection (depending where you are coming from) is the boat from Langkawi to Koh Lipe. You can reach Langkawi with a domestic flight from Kuala Lumpur. Saves another bus trip from Hat Yai to Pakbara. If you want to know more, just let me know.
you can just book a package with nokair, flight (to Hat Yai)+ minivan (to Pakbara)- + boat (to Koh Lipe) from Bkk
