Dear readers,

I am a real Thai lover yet married to a Filipino woman. So I spend the winter in the Philippines (a village on the island of Cebu), but on my way there I always pass Thailand to visit my friends there (Pattaya). The same way back. But now it comes. The flight of April 30 has been canceled by Philippine Airlines, my return flight to Belgium via Amsterdam with EVA Air is on May 14.

I am now trying to get a new flight from Philippine Airlines. I hope on May 7, but how do I find out whether or not we have to go into quarantine upon arrival in BKK on May 7? Because if we have to be quarantined, I will postpone the flight. So where can I get correct information per day, regarding arrival in Thailand from another Asian country.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Ronny

Ronny that won't work. The current restriction is valid until 18/4. No one can tell you what will happen after that. Certainly not for a trip in early May.
Just check the IATA website and follow the developments.

I think, given the major problems worldwide, that it is not wise to fly.
You can fly to Thailand via another country, but do you want that at all?
The 1.5 meter economy that we use here and in other countries is not for nothing.
Aviation will be a very different aviation than we have had before.
The tickets will become more expensive and the distance in a contemporary set-up in an airplane cannot be done with this K virus as long as there will be no vaccine.
From the Netherlands I think you can't fly directly to Thailand this year, and you can get into a lot of problems if you travel via other countries with quarantine rules.

I was supposed to fly from Taiwan to Bangkok on the 14th but yesterday I was told by my travel agent that both my flights (11th) have been canceled by EVA. And the refund can take months to arrive. So holiday cancelled.

EVA is normally fairly quick with refunds, even when almost all flights were canceled last year due to strikes. But apparently there is a travel agent between you and that may be the delaying factor……….

Also keep in mind that the borders are currently closed and no land or railway traffic is possible between Schiphol and Belgium.
If this measure is still in force at the time of your trip, you will also have to arrange a flight between Schiphol and Brussels or another Belgian airport.
