Dear readers,

I use the Buza flights from Cambodia via Bangkok to Amsterdam. How do I obtain the 'fit to fly' certificate and from whom?

Regards,

Willem

    Hello William,
I am in Thailand and went to a GP here, who had the form and filled it in after some questions and a physical examination (I will fly home on Monday if everything goes well). Hopefully it will work that way for you in Cambodia as well.
    Regards and success,
    Birthe

      Hi Birthe,

I also fly on Monday, but we don't need a fit to fly from Thailand to NL, do we?

      Regards,
      Sander

If you are traveling from Thailand, a fit certificate is not (yet) necessary. Your temperature will be measured upon entering Suvarnabhumi Airport. According to someone who left 2 days ago.

It is necessary for a transit passenger.

departed this night from Suvarnabhumi Airport at 0.30 am as a Belgian national you do not need a Fit to Fly certificate or any other medical certificate, only your temperature will be checked upon entering the airport

    Dear Birthe,

Do you live in Thailand if I may ask?
I am also working on coming from Thailand. But that doesn't really go smoothly yet.

You can get the FTF Statement at a hospital.

You do not need a 'fit to fly' certificate to fly to the Netherlands. Smart enough?

A transfer in Thailand of less than 24 hours without leaving the transit zone and with a 'fit to fly' statement is still possible, according to Foreign Affairs, in other words when you fly via Bangkok and your transit does not take longer than 24 hours if you still get away but with a 'fit to fly', when you leave Thailand you wouldn't need that, but if you want to be safe then you should be able to get that in any hospital or clinic.

    Hello
    I flew back on Thursday..
    Stephen's right
Your temperature will be taken when you enter the airport.
If that's okay, you don't need anything else.

    Kind regards, Dik Lenten

We also flew back to the Netherlands on Thursday. We did not need a fit to fly. There is a gdbeld to immigration and eva air for us. We were also worried.

I am a lung patient and always need ftf. Last year was not asked at the clinic and was therefore not allowed to fly. Then I went to the doctor at the airport and after paying 500 bath I could leave

Are you flying from Cambodia? The advice above is incorrect, read this article:

FOREIGN holidaymakers have effectively become stranded in Cambodia because of extreme conditions being set by airports around the world. Governments are enforcing strict policies that all transiting passengers must have their health certified by an acceptable hospital before leaving any Cambodian international airport to return to their home country.

Chhay Sivlin, president of the Cambodia Association of Travel Agents told Khmer Times yesterday that all airline companies now require foreign tourists to have their health certified by the French non-profit Pasteur Institute in Phnom Penh, ensuring that they are not affected with COVID-19 . “I have also been told to suggest to those stranded foreign tourists to check their health at Phnom Penh's Chak Angre hospital where the certification is also issued from the Pasteur Institute,” she said.

However, Chhay has confirmed that Pasteur Institute does not check for those who do not show symptoms of being sick, in an effort to preserve the limited number of testing kits in the country. Adding to the conundrum, Pasteur Institute will only issue positive test and the negative test certificate will not be issued, for reasons currently unknown.

You cannot leave Cambodia without a certificate. The comments above refer to Thailand and not Cambodia.

The Buza flights the questioner is talking about depart from Thailand, not from Cambodia. Can he cross a land border to Bangkok, or are they also closed for situations like this?
