Dear readers,

I am fully vaccinated with Pfizer. However, the certificate of vaccination from the GGD states comirnaty, the active substance. According to the GGD, this is because Pfizer is a brand name.

How do people in Thailand deal with this when it comes to entry conditions?

Regards,

Frank

Pfizer is not the name of a vaccine, but the name of a pharmaceutical company. Comirnaty is the name of BioNTech/Pfizer's corona vaccine.

I look at my digital Covid certificate that I have now printed out and it states that the vaccine is (vaccine medicinal product) and the manufacturer is biotech Manufacturing GmbH
And on the internet I read: The vaccine from BioNTech, Pfizer was created to protect against COVID-19.
    Manufacturer/Developer: BioNTech, Fosun Pharma, Pfizer
It is advised to get a third vaccine before you go to Thailand or another country. It has not yet been proven whether after two vaccinations after six months the effectiveness is still effective, even with the delta variant.
Has been approved by the WHO. So Thailand will certainly not make a problem of this

A few days after my second vaccination I received my European Vaccination Certificate.
It says vaccination from manufacturer BioNtech.

Just got out of quarantine, but when checking into the hotel I also had great difficulty convincing the nurse that these are Pfizer syringes. Perhaps a similar case to the 100000 Covid insurance or max insurance stated in our policy. Poor information given to staff.

As far as the entry conditions are concerned: you do not need to be vaccinated – at the moment – to enter Thailand.

    A few comments/questions.

Although you have to fill in your vaccinations on the site of the Thai embassy when applying for a CoE, I have no idea what the point is. You have to be quarantined for 14 days anyway.

More importantly, provinces can require that if someone (both Thai and farangs) comes from Bangkok (covid hotspot), they must first go into quarantine for 2 weeks.

But it seems that if you can prove that you have been vaccinated, this is not necessary. But of course you must have an 'official' form to prove that you have been vaccinated. Does anybody have experience with this?

It seems a bit too much of the good (or the bad) to have to go into quarantine for 2 x 2 weeks.

    Regards, Rob

My wife has consulted a doctor. She lives in Nakhon Phanom and comes to Jomtien. When we go back to Nakhon Phanom together she has to quarantine at home for 14 days and I have to report to the doctor and then I get proof that I don't have to quarantine because I have been vaccinated.

Perhaps that is why the GGD in The Hague also stamped my registration card with the mention Pfizer B.
